HATÁROZATLAN ÉS ÁLTALÁNOS NÉVMÁSOK
SSOOMMEE
Az előzőekben megtanultuk, hogy a SOME határozatlan számnevet (= néhány, egy kis)
hogyan kell használnunk.
De másképpen, más jelentésben is használhatjuk: = valamiféle…; valami…; valamilyen…
● A SOME a ’valamiféle/valami/valamilyen’ jelentésben csak megszámlálható főnévvel
használható. A megszámlálható főnevet egyes számban használjuk utána.
pl. There is some cat on the fence. (Valamiféle macska van a kerítésen.)
● Ilyenkor tulajdonnévvel is használható.
pl. Some Mr Johnson has called you. (Valami Mr Johnson hívott.)

A SOME-hoz hasonlóan az ANY-t is használhatjuk másképpen, más jelentésben, mint a már
említett határozatlan számnévi jelentése.

(Mindkét zsiráf furcsa.)
c) BOTH OF + US / YOU / THEM vagy: we/you/they both
= mindkettőnk, mindkettőtök, mindkettőjük pl. Both of us like music. vagy: We both like music.
(Mindketten szeretjük a zenét.)

● Mindig egyes számú az állítmány mellette!
● Csak megszámlálható főnévvel használható
a) NEITHER … NOR … = sem …, sem … pl. Neither Joe nor Kate is crying. (Sem Joe, sem Kate nem sír.)
● Az állítmány nem tagadó formájú! (Nincs kettős tagadás az angolban.)
b) NEITHER OF THE …S = a két … egyike sem ; a …k egyike sem ; egyik … sem
● Mindig két dologra vonatkozik.
● A főnév többes számban áll mellette (de az állítmány egyes számban)!
● Az állítmány nem tagadó formájú! (nincs kettős tagadás az angolban.)
pl. Neither of my parents paints well.
(Egyik szülőm sem fest jól. / A szüleim egyike sem fest jól.)
c) NEITHER OF US / YOU / THEM = kettőnk / kettőtök / kettőjük közül egyik sem
egyikünk / egyiktek / egyikük sem
pl. Neither of us can swim.
(Egyikünk sem tud úszni. / Kettőnk közül egyik sem tud úszni.)
Megjegyzés: Azokban a mondatokban, amelyekben az állítmány tagadó formájú, a ’neither’ helyett az ’either’ névmást
kell használnunk!
pl. The didn’t like either of my ideas. (Egyik ötletem sem tetszett neki.)

Megjegyzés: egyéb jelentései is vannak:
● időfogalmak mellett ALL day/week/month/year stb. = egész nap/héten/hónapban/évben stb.
pl. I was working hard all day. (Egész nap keményen dolgoztam.)
● önmagában Az „all” önmagában is használható, „Az egyetlen dolog, ami(t)…”/ „Mindössze / Minden”
jelentésben.
pl. All I want is a bicycle. (Mindössze egy biciklit szeretnék.)

AALLLL ● Használható megszámlálható és megszámlálhatatlan főnévvel is.
Megszámlálható főnév mellett: Megszámlálhatatlan főnév mellett:
● Mindig több mint kettő dologra vonatkozik.

= az összes …; mindegyik …; minden …

pl. We ate all the pizza. (Megettük az összes pizzát.)

● Csak megszámlálható főnévvel használható.
● Mindig több mint kettő dologra vonatkozik.

pl. None of the boys has money. (Egyik fiúnak sincs pénze.)

pl. None of them is handsome. (Egyikük sem jóképű.)
