Annual Chicken BBQ
Welcome to a new year for Pi Chapter! There are rewarding projects to become involved with, like The Books for Food Pantries project and the Gift Card Wreaths raffle to raise money for classroom teachers’ mini-grants. There are meetings where you can catch up with other mem-bers, hear interesting programs, and enjoy yummy refreshments. Come join us!! On September 23rd, Pi Chapter will celebrate its 70th birthday with a delicious tea at the Penn Wells Hotel in Wellsboro. Our special guests will be State President, Barbara Gasperini and Past International President, Dr. Lyn Schmid. Another exciting moment will be the initiation of a NEW MEMBER!! Also, at the September meeting we will draw 2 winners for the GIFT CARD WREATHS. All members who have taken raffle tickets to sell, please have your ticket stubs and money turned in by the meeting on September 23rd. Also if you are not attending the Sept. meeting and have ticket stubs or money to turn in, contact me! Posters with information on applying for mini-grants will be available at the meeting. If you need more tickets to sell, or haven’t gotten tickets yet, please let me know and I will get some to you. For you members in Potter County, who have been asking for meetings closer to home, our November meeting will be held at the Crittenden Hotel in Coudersport. We will be ordering a brunch from the menu. We need a program for that meeting, so members over that way, please help us out with your ideas. The Chicken BBQ in August was a huge success and we sold out early. It was a fun and rewarding day for workers and a HUGE THANK YOU to JANET METALLO for all the planning and coordinating for this event. Also thanks to all the members who donated cookies, beans, sal-ads, etc.
I hope to see you soon, Beth Rowland President, Pi Chapter
