Art Park is free to attend and students may sign upfor one week or all four weeks, or you may drop in at the open session daily fromnoon until 1:30pm. The program isdesigned to challenge the students and help them elevate their self-confidence &standing in the community. It is also designed to promote the Hastings First WardPark and to change the pride & image of the park. The Art Park program is spon-sored by the Thornapple Arts Council, the Barry Community Foundation and theHastings DDA and promises to be a great addition to our community’s art projects.2. The No Family Left Indoors schedule for the kids in Barry County continues thisTuesday with a Scavenger Hunt on Riverwalk Trail in Hastings. You will discoverunseen gems in our local landscape & streetscape. The hunt will involve local land-marks, interesting buildings and some of the area’s sculptures seen from a differ-ent point of view. The Hunt will last from 6:30-8pm and will begin at the HastingsPublic Library.3. The Fridays at the Fountain Concert this Friday noon-1:30pm will feature thefolk/country sounds of Bill Bynum & Company. Bring lunch or buy lunch downtown(Seasonal Grille serves a special lunch at the concert site), come & go as yourschedule allows. The show is free to all. The rain location is the Hastings City BankCommunity Room. Sponsored by the Thornapple Arts Council, the City of HastingsDDA and local businesses.4. The 28th annual Great Lakes Longbow Invitational, sponsored by theMichigan Longbow Association & one of the largest such events in the world, isnext weekend, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, at Charlton Park. The event featureslongbow shooting, vendor displays, a chance to enjoy the company of other long-bow enthusiasts and to learn more about the sport. Camping, boating, fishing andswimming in beautiful Thornapple Lake and visits to the historic village are allincluded. Come for the day, enjoy the show and learn.
