Journey of Haryana School of Business

• Erstwhile Departments of Business Management andBusiness Economics

• The university aspired to establish Haryana School ofBusiness on the pattern of Indian Institute of Managementfor meeting the requirements of teaching, research, andconsulting in management and its allied areas in this part ofthe country.

• Committee was constituted under the chairmanship of Prof.J.S. Choker (Former director, IIM-Ahmedabad) forrecommending a suitable Model of B-School for theuniversity in December 2006

• CHHOKAR COMMITTEE submitted its report in FEB 2007

• The university approved the report in March 2007

• The Govt. of Haryana approved the concept of HSB in May2007 and the State Assembly made required amendment inthe GJUS&T, Act in March 2008

Admission at HSB

MBA, MBA (Finance), MBA (Marketing) and MBA(IB) Programmes

• Merit shall be finalized as per CAT Score with a cut off of 40

percentile for all categories except SC category where relaxation

of 5 percentile is allowed.

• In case the seats are not filled through CAT, HSB will hold its

own test to fill the vacant seats.

M Com Programme

• Admission shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in

entrance test conducted by HSB.

M.Sc. Economics Programme

Admission shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in

entrance test conducted by HSB.

Admission at HSB

MBA - Part Time (Evening) Programme

• Admission shall be made on the basis of marks

obtained in entrance test and one year work

experience after graduation.

PhD Programme

• Admission shall be made on the basis of marks

obtained in entrance test. However, Junior Research

Fellows are exempt from entrance test and their

admission is based on direct entry scheme of UGC.

Course Curriculum

• HSB offers two years MBA, MBA (Finance), MBA (Marketing) and MBA(IB), M

Com and M. Sc. Economics Programmes divided into four semesters.

• After second semester students of MBA Programmes undergo summer

training of 6 weeks duration to get first hand exposure of the industry.

• Specialization starts in first semester itself for the super specialized

courses whereas in case of MBA & M Com students opt their specialization

in third semester which can be single or dual specialization( one major and

one minor areas of specialization).

• Research project is an integral part of course curriculum.

• Syllabus is updated after every year just to incorporate the latest

developments and requirements of the industry/corporate. Last updation of

syllabi for various courses has been done in July 2018.
