It was the larg- est annual meeting in Hart EMC’s history. All 1,340 registered members remained in their vehicles for safety and received a $25 credit on their August electric bill. They were added into a drawing for 15 grand prizes that were selected at the conclusion of the meet- ing. Directors reelected without opposition were Galen Mills, rep- resenting District 1, and Guerry Hall, from District 3. “This was very different from past years, and we didn’t want to cancel or postpone our annual meeting,” Public Relations Director Angie Brown says. “It was evident in these uncertain times that Hart EMC members needed the $25 credit; members waited in long traffic lines in the humidity. Last year, we had 560 registered members, and in 2018 we only had 494 registered mem- bers attend the annual meeting.” We would like to thank the Hart County Sheriff’s Office deputies for assisting us. A special thank you to all our employees who helped interact with our O Hart EMC Has Largest Annual Meeting Ever members, manage traffic and keep everyone safe. Last but not least, we want to thank our wonderful members for their patience and flexibility. This year has been filled with lots of changes brought on by the coronavirus. We hope and pray that things will be somewhat normal in 2021. Ingredients
1 1/2 cups oil2 cups sugar3 eggs 3 cups sifted flour1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda2 tablespoons vanilla 3 large apples, cut in small pieces1 cup chopped pecans
Directions
Combine oil, sugar and eggs.
Beat at medium speed for 3 minutes.
Combine flour, salt, baking soda and
vanilla. Fold in apples and pecans. Bake
in well-greased and floured tube pan at
325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Prepare sauce and pour on cool cake.
