Activities Since Last Meeting:
1. Philanthropy Committee met on September 12, 2016. We reviewed our fund raising
progress and prospect list. As of September 28th we have raised over $78,000 towards
our $170,000 goal. We are planning a donor cultivation event to be held on November
17th prior to the Fall Symphony Orchestra concert. This event will be directed at those
we’d like to make donations but haven’t yet. Each committee member is working on a
list of 5 or more people to invite.
2. Planning meeting with Dr. Ward to review the plan progress and goals for the year on
October 4, 2016.
3. Logging all donations into the Arts People website and keeping the Tiered Giving
spreadsheet updated so that information can be given to Dr. Ward and Mr. Levine when
needed for event programs at Harrison.
4. Maintaining the HPA’s FB page and now posting to the Harrison school FB page as well.
Also, sharing events to the Harrison Alumni FB group.
5. Serving as HPA representative and mentor to the ARC. Many members of the
philanthropy committee and HPA executive board attended their meeting on 9/1916. It
was actually a “thank you” social for the HPA helping them get their organization
started. We mingled with many of the alumni on the committee and learned more
about them and their vision for the group.
6. Attended the Association of Fundraising Professionals meeting on September 14, 2016.
The meeting was focused on donor relationships. We were one of three members who
submitted National Philanthropy Day nominations so they did a drawing for 12 free
lunches and I won!
7. Nominated Punam Saxena for National Philanthropy Day as Volunteer of the Year.
Event will be held on November 3, 2016 and First United Methodist Church at 7:30 a.m.
Tickets are $30 each or a table for $225 to AFP members.
8. Forwarded October events and performance calendar to our sponsors at $500 and up.
