religious fervor and gaiety is an indication in this regard. In this function besides, the mem- bers of Hindu community a large number of Muslims also participated which showed that Kashmiris want that uncertainty created by the secessionists should end, he added. Dr Jitendra Singh, who also commended the role of J&K Police in launching a strong oper- ation against the terrorism said it is heartening to note that the State police particularly its Special Operation Wing is performing a commendable role. Their role has also been appreciated by the sen- ior Generals and by the officials in the Ministry of Defence and Home Affairs, he added. He said the timely detection of the tunnel on International Border (IB) in Arnia Sector of Jammu region by BSF few days back and continuously repulsing of infiltra- tion bids from across the border has been possible because of high level of professional approach which has improved both intelli- gence mechanism as well as response. Dr Jitendra Singh also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh for having responded to their demand to have individual bunkers in addition to community bunkers along the IB and LoC in the State. After a through discus- sion in Ministry of Home Affairs a proposal has been mooted for construction of 19,000 individual bunkers and 4700 community bunkers along LoC and IB, he added. Dr Singh while making a strong attack on the opposition parties in the State for playing divisive politics warned that in coming times the politics of dou- ble speak will no longer work. He said any body entering into politics has to be prepared to work with absolute transparency and honesty without manipulating statements on any issue. On the one hand it is predominantly youth dominated India and on the other hand there is instant report- ing and verification of facts on the Internet, he added. Dr Jitendra said that in J&K three generations of politicians from certain political parties have survived by giving one statement in Jammu, another in Kashmir and saying Bharat Mata Ki Jai after reaching Delhi. But the new gen- eration of politicians can no longer enjoy this privilege of dou- ble speak as foundation of this new culture in politics was laid by Narendra Modi over there years ago. He said to enjoy credibility among the masses, the political parties and their leaders will be required to convince the youth that they themselves believe that what they are saying. While referring to Swachhta Abhiyan, he said the success of cleanliness drive is one of the achievements of Narendra Modi as he has introduced a new trend of converting the Government campaigns into public campaign- ing. The Union Minister said that this has been possible because of trust and faith Prime Minister commands among the masses, he added. He said in past most of the campaigns began from masses and Government either conceded the demands made by them or tried to resist. But in the last three years of Narendra Modi Government the trend has been reversed by introducing Swachha drive and demonetization from the top and the people have car- ried it as the mass movement, he added. Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Oct 2: Shiv Sena Hindustan (SSH) has strongly advocated for abrogation of Article 35A from the Constitution of India. No one is benefitting from Article 370 or Article 35A - whether they are Hindus or Muslims. It is only vested inter- ests, the elite, who have been ben- efitted by these provisions, national general secretary, Krishan Sharma said while addressing media persons here, today along with State president, Pt. Rajesh Kesri, Senior vice president Vinay Jalandharia, Satish Mahajan from Punjab and Abdul Khalid Bhat from Kashmir. The so called ‘experts’ are misleading the people by advocating for Article 370, he added. Sharma requested the media to study this serious issue so that it can be discussed in an informal manner before the public. This issue must be taken up as a cam- paign by the media, so that public opinion is built to bring justice to the people of J&K, he added. Blaming Article 370 of the Constitution for creation of a “separatist emotion”, he said the time has come for the people of the State to say goodbye to it as well as Article 35A.Both these Articles, instead of being benefi- cial to the people of the State, have done a great damage and hampered the progress and devel- opment, claimed Sharma. He said the time has come when the peo- ple of J&K should say goodbye to Article 370 and ask the Central Government to revoke Article 35A. He said the prevailing situa- tion in the Valley shows that Article 370 has created a sepa- ratist psyche and acts as a breed- ing ground for separatist emo- tion,. Industrialists and business houses from outside hesitate to open ventures in the State and as a result, it is facing the crisis of unemployment and migration of skilled and talented youth to the rest of the country, he added. Academicians and experts from the rest of the country are discour- aged because of the Article to contribute in the educational growth of the State, he claimed. He called upon the people of J&K to also look into the utility of Article 35A, claiming it was “most discriminatory” and differ- entiated between men and women with regard to their rights as citi- zen of the State. Sharma slammed Coalition Government for allowing the set- tlement of over 6,000 Rohingya Muslims in Hindu dominated Jammu region even as they have got the work permits from the Government of India to carry out different jobs in the State. He asked the State Government to take measures to “stop” the illegal settlement of Bangladeshi Muslims. He said that the Rohingya Muslims started coming to Jammu region over six years back and “over a period of time their number has increased”. From page 1 Bus, trade remain suspended for 3 months parts of divided State, was suspended on July 10 after heavy shelling by Pakistani troops at various places on the LoC includ- ing Chakan-Da-Bagh from where the buses and trucks carrying goods cross over to Rawlakote in PoK from Poonch,'' sources said. There seems to be no chances of early resumption of cross-LoC bus and trade as there has been no let up in ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops on the LoC. Sources said authorities didn't want to take any chances of send- ing civilians from this side to PoK as Chakan-Da-Bagh also falls within Pakistan's shelling and firing range. However, cross-LoC bus and trade continued uninterrupted on Uri-Muzaffarabad route in Kashmir valley. It may be mentioned here that National Investigation Agency (NIA) has recommended to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs for suspension of cross-LoC trade between Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan occupied Kashmir on the ground that it was being misused by certain persons to fund terrorism and unrest in the Valley.
