INFECTION CONTROL, INTERIM LIFE SAFETY, AND PHASING PROTOCOLS
SCHEDULE AND PERFORM CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS TO MINIMIZE NOISE, MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS DISRUPTION, ACCESS AND COMMUNICATIONS DISRUPTIONS, AND

IMPLEMENT THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES AS A PRECAUTION TO PREVENT THE DISPERSAL OF DUST, MOLD, AND OTHER MICROORGANISMS.
AREAS OF RISK INVOLVE DUST AND MOISTURE INTRUSION, CONTROL OF CLEAN-TO-DIRTY AIRFLOW, INTERRUPTION OF UTILITY, AND BUILDING EQUIPMENT SERVICES AND COMMUNICATION
REQUIREMENTS.
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:
1. MAINTAIN EXITS TO PROVIDE FREE AND UNOBSTRUCTED EGRESS.
2. IF ALTERNATE EXITS ARE DESIGNATED, TRAIN PERSONNEL REGARDING EXIT PATHS.
3. MAINTAIN FREE AND UNOBSTRUCTED ACCESS FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES.
4. NOTIFY FIRE DEPARTMENT AND IMPLEMENT FIRE WATCH IF ANY PART OF THE FIRE ALARM, DETECTION, AND SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS ARE TO BE DOWN FOR MORE THAN 4 HOURS IN A 24 HOUR
PERIOD.
5. INSTALL TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION PARTITIONS OF SOLID, NONCUMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS THAT ARE SMOKE TIGHT.
6. PERMIT NO SMOKING NEAR CONSTRUCTION AREAS. UTILIZE STORAGE, HOUSEKEEPING, AND DEBRIS REMOVAL PRACTICES TO REDUCE FIRE-HAZARD TO LOWEST LEVEL.
7. MAINTAIN NEGATIVE AIR PRESSURE WITH HEPA FILTRATION IN ALL AREAS OF WORK. EXHAUST AIR TO OUTSIDE.
8. SEAL OFF OR FILTER VENTILATION, SEAL DOORS AND PENETRATIONS.
9. UTILIZE HEPA VACUUMS DURING WORK.
10. INSTALL DUST MATS AT ALL EXITS FROM WORK AREA AND TWO DUST MATS AT ALL WORK AREA ALCOVES.
11. CONTAIN CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS IN COVERED, APPROPRIATE CONTAINERS FOR TRANSPORT.
12. ESTABLISH LOW-RISK PATHWAYS FOR DEBRIS REMOVAL WITH WSH PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION.
13. CONSTRUCT WORK AREA ANTEROOM AND VACUUM ALL PERSONNEL PRIOR TO LEAVING WORK SPACE.
14. WEAR SHOE COVERS OR APPROPRIATE CLOTHING.
15. WET MOP AREA WITH DISINFECTANT UPON COMPLETION OF WORK.
16. PROVIDE AREA NOTIFICATION AS DIRECTED BY WSH.
