The City of Scottsbluff provides police services to the City of Terrytown. The Scottsbluff Police Department responds to your calls for police services,
as the department does for the citizens of Scottsbluff.
If you have a law enforcement problem, call the County Communications Center: 9-1-1 for emer-gencies and 632-7176 for non-emergencies. A dispatcher will answer your call and will need to ob-tain the following information from you:
Location of where police services are needed. Speak clearly, giving accurate directions, includ-ing house numbers, apartment number or nearest landmark. Residents should take this op-portunity to make sure their residences are marked with visible house numbers. This may make the difference in a life or death situation.
Your name, address and telephone number. You are not required to report this information but it is very helpful if there is a need for officers to obtain further information from you.
What police service is needed, what is the problem? You will be asked what the problem is and some of the details of the incident. We need that information so we can respond ac-cordingly.
The radio dispatcher can generally give you information on when an officer should be there it should be within 3 to 4 minutes. This depends on patrol unit location and their call status at the time. Other non-emergency calls will generally be handled in priority. We will respond to all law enforcement requests, except the following:
Snow removal. Code Violations such as tall weeds or grass, abandoned vehicles on private property, accumula-
tions of trash on private property etc. Animal complaints such as dogs/cats which are not an immediate danger or concern to safety
can be taken care of by calling the Panhandle Human Society at 635-0922 or you can call the city office. In the event of an animal bite the Scottsbluff Police Department will need to be contacted by calling the communications center.
When you notice or experience these types of violations you should contact the Terrytown office. Terrytown is afforded fire protection through Scottsbluff Rural Fire Protection District. Call 9-1-1 to report fires and 632-7176 to report fire code violations. The Scottsbluff Police Department is pleased to serve the citizens of Terrytown.
