Holidays Homework
2014-15
Class- Pre Primary
Dear Parents,
Are holidays just for play & leisure? No, we're going to engage our children with certain responsibilities and also help them to enjoy
their holidays with fun-filled activities which will lead to the enhancement of their creativity and artistic expressions.
GUESS WHAT? WE HAVE SOME EXCITING IDEAS FOR YOU TO ENJOY THIS SUMMER BREAK.
Holiday! Just the word excites and overwhelms a child. A child loves holidays. But holidays don’t necessarily mean just rest & play. So
we should engage our children in fun filled activities to make their holidays full of fun, frolic & learning experiences.
Dear students,
You can take advantage of this extended time off school to think about animals, neighbors and community members. Here are some
ideas for meaningful ways to reach out to those who need a hand.
1. Every Day
Give your child a hug & say "I love you."
Praise your child.
Talk to your child.
Count with your child.
Listen to music with your child
Read out stories to your child and ask your child to narrate them.
2. CARE AND CONCERN FOR LOVED ONES:
This is your chance to look after your parents & grandparents, elders and even your younger brothers and sisters. Help them in their daily
chores.
3. CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT:
The Holidays are great, but school work can be fun filled and inspiring too. So, here are few interesting activities to keep you going
through the summer break.
Learn to take care of plants & animals around you. Water the plants at your home or garden everyday.
Nature will love you if you love it. So, daily visit to a near by park and feed birds with bajra and water.
A bowl of water out side in the balcony /terrace for the birds to drink water, as it is very hot.
4. CULTIVATE MANNERS:
Remember the four magic words: PLEASE, THANK YOU, EXCUSE ME and SORRY. Make these parts of your personality.
At home:
Clear the toys, books or colours that remain after you have finished your work.
Honesty is the best policy. Tell the truth at all times.
Be polite.
Share the T.V time. Do not sit too close while watching T.V.
At the dining table:
Take small bites; eat neatly, slowly with your mouth closed.
Serve water to your family and friends.
Keep your utensils back in the kitchen.
In the Park:
Don’t throw wrappers on the ground.
Don’t pluck flowers and leaves.
Wait for your turn on swing and slides.
On the telephone:
If there are no elders around, don’t let the phone ring long, answer it.
Talk softly when someone is speaking on the phone and don’t interrupt.
5. PERSONAL CLEANLINESS :
Brush your teeth twice a day.
Take bath daily.
Get your nails trimmed once in a week daily.
Do not waste water and electricity.
Keep your surroundings and environment clean. It is bad habit to throw things out of the window, car or a balcony.
6. Reading Time…!!!!
“Its time to take down those books from your cupboard and read”
Please converse with your child in English at home and read out stories regularly to him/her.
*Jungle Book
*Cinderella
* Snow white & Seven Dwarfs
7. LCA--for Lights! Camera! Action!
Smile, it enhances your face value.
Bambi

All play and no work will make Jack a dull boy. We surely don’t want to make our kids dull. So, here are some fun-filled activities
