Feb. 2009 Managerial rights of First Fire & Marine Insurance is acquired.

1990s Restructuring through selective concentration of resources

• Hanwha Chemical, established in 1965, is Korea’s first producer of synthetic resin, producing polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in 1966 followed by low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) production.

• Korea’s first to enter the chlor-alkali (CA) field in the 1980s, and established the nation’s single verticalized system equipped with manufacturing facilities from raw materials to processed products.
