4. Topstitch the Hand Sanitizer Holder Pocket using a 1/8” seam allowance. 5. Using a fabric marking pen, make a mark on the bottom right hand curve that is 5/8” over from the straight edge. Repeat for the left side.

6. Put the Hand Sanitizer Holder Pocket to the side and assemble the Metro Double- Zip Pouch as Sara instructs, up to Step 5 of the pattern. Attach the Hand Sanitizer Holder 7. On the Exterior Pocket, opposite side of where the zipper is when closed, measure and make a mark that is 1-1/2” over from the short side edge. *You will need to flip the Lining Exterior Pocket up out of the way, you’re only sewing through the Exterior. 8. From the mark you just made in Step 7, measure and make a mark that is over 2-1/2”. This will be a 2-1/2” space between the two marks. 9. Measure and make a mark that is 3/4” down from the zipper (right where the zipper meets the fabric), between the two lines you drew in Step 7 and 8. 10. Take your completed Hand Sanitizer Holder Pocket and place one long edge inside the line you drew in Step 7. Pin in place.

11. Take the other long edge of the Hand Sanitizer Holder Pocket and place it inside the line you drew in Step 8, then line up the top with the line you drew in Step 9. Pin in place. This will create a hump in the pocket for the hand sanitizer to fit.

12. Sew the Hand Sanitizer Holder Pocket to the Metro Double-Zip Exterior Pocket using a scant 1/4”. Start at the top, just off the Hand Sanitizer Holder Pocket edge, sew straight down. Make sure to follow the curve at the bottom, stopping at the 5/8” mark you made in Step 5. I sew past my topstitching on the Hand Sanitizer Holder Pocket, stopping just right off the Hand Sanitizer Holder Pocket edge.

Finish the Pouch 13. Continue assembling the pouch as per Sara’s instructions, from Step 6 and on.

NOTES 1. The Small Hand Sanitizer Holder will fit these bottles.

And the Large Hand Sanitizer Holder will fit this bottle

2. To see what Hand Sanitizer Holder Pattern Pocket piece you will need to use for the size of bottle you have, just lay your pattern piece over the bottle and down on the sides, on your cutting mat so that it is 2-1/2” wide as in Step 7 and 8. Your bottle should fit nice and snuggly inside.

Hanging Hand Sanitizer Holder Supplies - 1/2” Swivel Clip or a Split Ring - Kam Snap or Pearl Snap - Hand Sanitizer Holder Pattern Piece - Cork, Vinyl or Faux Leather Cutting Instructions 1. Cut two Small Hanging Hand Sanitizer Holder pattern pieces from material of choice. 2. Cut one piece of selected material 5/8” x 4”, this piece is the Snap Flap. 3. Cut one piece of selected Material 5/8” x 3-1/2”, this is also the Snap Flap. 4. Cut one piece of selected material 1” x 3”, this piece is the Tab. To Make Hanging Hand Sanitizer Holder 5. Place the two Snap Flaps wrong sides together, lining up the long edges and one short edge. There will be 1/2” of material that is raw, this is to help keep bulk out when sewing this all together.

6. Sew the long edges of the Snap Flap using 1/8” seam allowance. You can stop sewing when you reach the 3-1/2” edge, you don’t need to sew the one layer. 7. Pin the Snap Flap Piece to the Hanging Hand Sanitizer Holder Back piece, on the inside of the Hanging Hand Sanitizer Holder. The Snap Flap will be on the right sides against the wrong side of the Hanging Sanitizer Holder Piece. The single layer of the Snap Flap is what you are sewing here. It will be centered and 1/2” down from the top edge. 8. Sew the Snap Flap 1/8” away from the top edge and 1/8” away from the short raw edge of the Snap Flap.

9. Make a mark on the Tab, that is centered along the long edge. 10. Fold the long edges to meet the center mark and pin in place. 11. Sew 1/8” away from the folded edges. 12. Slide Swivel Clip or Split Ring onto Tab and fold the Tab in half, so short edges meet. Place a clip to hold it together. 13. Place the Tab on the Hanging Hand Sanitizer Holder Back Piece of the Hanging Hand Sanitizer Holder and centered, 1/2” down from the top straight edge. This will be placed on the exterior, right sides touching. 14. Sew theTab 1/8” away from the top edge and 1/8” away from the short raw edge of the Tab.

*You can install a Rivet or Chicago Screw between your lines of stitching, for extra security. Or you can omit the stitching and just use a Rivet or Chicago Screws.

15. Measure and make a mark on the front Hanging Hand Sanitizer Holder piece, that is 1” down and centered.

16. Using a fabric marking pen, make a mark on the bottom right hand curve that is 5/8” over from the straight edge. Repeat for the left side.

17. Sew the Hanging Hand Sanitizer Holder Pattern Pieces, wrong sides together using 1/4” seam allowance, starting at the top, sew straight down, following the bottom curve and making sure to stop at the marks you made in Step 16. *NOTE - If making this for a smaller bottle of Hand Sanitizer, such as the one from Bath and Body Works, sew using 3/8” seam allowance. *Tip 1 - before you sew together, pin it to see if 1/4” seam allowance is big enough to hold the bottle size you’re making this for, snuggly. You can adjust your seam allowance as needed. If you sew with 1/4” seam allowance, all bottles I’ve shown above will fit, just some won’t be a snuggly inside. *Tip 2 - You can sew the top curve, just slightly, to help give this a bit more shape, but it is not necessary at all. *Tip 3 - You can sew the bottom curve so it’s a bit more rounded, to give this a different shape. But keep in mind the shape of the bottle you are making this for as it may not fit. You’ll want to check your bottle to see if it’ll fit, how you’re shaping the curve. 18. Trim off any excess material 1/8” away from your stitches, be very careful not to clip your stitches.

*Tip - Use Pinking Shears for a different look. 18. Insert the bottle of choice, and bring the Snap Flap over to the front of the Hanging Hand Sanitizer Holder, so it meets the female half of the snap. You want this Snap Flap to fit snuggly. Make a mark where the center of the female snap is, on your Snap Flap. You will now install the male half of the snap, using the manufacturer’s instructions, at this mark you made. 19. Trim off any excess material from the Snap Flap and then sew 1/8” away from the edge, going over the original stitches. This will help ensure the original stitches don’t come out. . *You can add two snaps, so that you can use any size bottle, you’ll repeat the process in Step 18 before you complete Step 19, to install the second male half of a snap.

*The 2nd and last photo in this bunch, is one where I made the bottom more rounded.
