Pupuke Kāhui Ako Student Inquiry Team
Students from our Pupuke Kahui Ako schools gathered at Westlake Girls’ High School last Thursday for the first of many planned meetings this year for our new Student Inquiry Team. This initiative aims to give our students voice to the direction and growth of our Community of Learning (CoL).
The first session gave students the opportunity to mix and mingle with each other. Students began considering our CoL focus of wellbeing, key competencies, community engagement, student agency and relationships through a student lens. The morning also provided an opportunity for students to learn about Appreciative Inquiry as a process to define, discover, dream, design and deliver positive change. Forrest Hill School is represented on the Student Inquiry team by
Hamish Fraser It was fun because I got to be with other schools (Y5s-Y12s). I got to know about what different schools do e.g. Westlake Cultural Week. I got to share about our school's Tuhononga Days.
Matthew Bradshaw I enjoyed getting into groups around the inquiry topics. I liked meeting new people and learning about what Wellbeing means. I enjoyed finding out what the Kahui Ako has planned for students.
Alegria Stenberg It was fun. We were learning in a fun way. There were really nice people from different schools i.e. from primary, intermediate and college..
Seoyeon Park It was fun to cooperate with other people from other schools that I didn't know. I enjoyed getting to know people. I liked going to Westlake Girls and seeing how it works.

Online safety for parents/whānau is more important than ever. As young people begin to spend more time online, it’s important that parents start to teach them how to stay safe. So, how do you get started? This session is for parents of kids of all ages – from preschool to teenagers.
“The results from last terms Digital Citizenship survey suggest the majority of parents believe digital citizenship and digital safety is very important. Furthermore, most parents have indicated they would like to know more. So we have organised this Netsafe Event for you! See you there”. Regards Mr Robson - Lead Teacher Digital Technology
