In 2008, she won the BBC Young Sports Personal- ity of the year. She was appointed an MBE in 2009 aged just 14; she is the youngest person ever to receive this honour. Training schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday morn- ing starting at 6am and every evening. Sunday is her only day off. Before a competition: She wears her Great British knickers and listens to Britney Spears’ ‘Piece of Me’. Swimming history: Ellie started swimming when she was just 5 years old.
