1. University at a GlanceSwami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana or S-VYASA is a NAAC A+ accredited University located in Bangalore, India. It is awarded with 3 stars for its academics and 5 stars for research during 2016-17 AISHE (All India Survey for Higher Education). The university is dedicated to the study of yoga based on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
1.1. Vision “Be and Make”, I to bring the holistic vision of Yoga and its great legacies to the world to usher in holistic health for the entire mankind.
1.2. Mission Combine the best of the East (Yoga and Spiritual lore) with the best of the West (Modern Scientific Research) wherein science and spirituality are amalgamated for peaceful and mutually useful society for the self-reform.
1.3. Objectives i. To provide instructions and training in
Yoga-Spiritual lore for total personality development (as propounded by Swami Vivekananda, the famous Indian monk, who heralded the grandeur of Sanatana Dharma in the West through his epoch making speech in the Parliament of Religions on Sep 11, 1893, at Chicago).

S-VYASAYoga University

1.4. Uniqueness Students undergo Life Training and Character Building Education with Yoga as a Science of Holistic living. We follow ancient Gurukula way of Education combined with modern scientific approach. The emphasis is Hands-on practical experience and in-depth research. We nurture the Guru-Shishya parampara by interactions which are emphasized with faculty that helps in development of one’s own personality.
1.5. A Word to Students “Arise, Awake, and stop not till the goal is reached” is an inspirational foundation laid down by our University with reverence to the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Every student is encouraged to learn update and enhance his/ her

skill sets required, walk with freedom towards their destined future. At S-VYASA we believe that every challenge can be converted into an opportunity which infuses a positive attitude towards life and society. One forfeit his chance for life at its fullest when the best efforts in learning are withheld with a minimum learning, one can receive only minimum in return. Despite the parent’s best examples and teacher’s best efforts, eventually the student is responsible for learning. When students work hard to their capabilities, the knowledge and skills can be attained to create and control their destiny. If the student does not work hard, others will control his/her destiny. One must take charge of life, apply his/her talent and work with dedication and self- discipline. To fulfill, reach above and beyond one’s high expectations, every student must aim high, work hard, and learn to convert every challenge into an opportunity.
