What can you fi nd at the Colgate Bookstore? Something new every day! Whether you’re seeking Colgate clothing and merchandise, good books to read, inspired gift ideas, or assistance and a smile from our friendly and knowledgeable staff, you’ll fi nd it here.

When you arrive, check out the new brands and a new look in our fi rst-fl oor Gift Wing. We’ve done some spring (and summer) cleaning and a bit of redecorating, so we’re ready to introduce some exciting products we know you’ll love.

We’re proud to offer the popular, and socially-responsible, Alex and Ani lifestyle brand - bangles, rings and earrings, infused with positive energy and made in the USA. (Please save the date of Wednesday, October 1 from 6-8 p.m. for a special Alex and Ani After-Hours event.)

Other recent arrivals include Hobo handbags, wallets and accessories; the EvolutionMan skin care and grooming collection; exquisite and soothing Archipelago Botanicals for the bath and home; a selection of loungewear in styles from

relaxed and cozy to sleek and chic. We’ve also partnered with Nelson Farms Country Store to offer a showcase of specialty foods from all regions of New York State.

Of course, some things haven’t changed. We still carry more than 23,000 general books for readers of all ages. Children’s programs and special events are an ongoing – and always enjoyable - part of our monthly schedule. With a full range of school supplies on our lower level and computer and audio accessories on the second fl oor, the Bookstore is a convenient downtown location to fi nd necessities as well as luxuries for work, school, and home. And, of course, we remain the offi cial source for university apparel and textbooks.

Although we are proudly owned and operated by the university, and pleased to be central New York’s largest downtown independent bookstore, the Colgate Bookstore has been - and will continue to be - a campus and community connection: more than just Colgate, and more than your average bookstore.

Located in the heart of Hamilton’s downtown, Hamilton Village Real Estate has been in business over 35 years. “We feel a strong community connection is essential to serving the needs of our buyer and seller clients. We go out of our way to extend a feeling that we are all in this together and our success is really a group effort that includes fellow brokers, lenders, attorneys and home inspec-tors” says Reg Wilson, Owner/Associate Broker who adds that “Hamilton Village Real Estate consistently and uniquely delivers on a value-added service pledge.”

Reg is currently president of the Hamilton Business Alliance and past president of the Hamilton Club. Reg sings with a local a cappella group, “The Blue Parsley Boys” and in the Park United Methodist Church choir.

Co-owner and Broker, Lorna Wilson promotes a focus on professionalism, new technology and continuing education. She is a Com-munications Liaison for the Greater Syracuse Association of Realtors, serves as president of the Hamilton’s Lifelong Learning Program and serves on the board of the directors for the Hamilton Rotary Club.

Katie McDevitt, Salesperson, has had her NY real estate license for 15 years and is a 1999 graduate of Hamilton Central School. She graduated from Gettysburg College in 2003 and has just recently returned to Central New York after working with real estate develop-ment companies in Williamstown, Massachusetts and Naples, Florida. She has been involved in many community groups in the past and looks forward to being involved in the community again. She lives in Hamilton with her husband and one year old son, and enjoys coupling her love for photography with her career in real estate.

Now interning with Hamilton Village Real Estate is Nikki Tubbs - a sophomore in the School of Business at Siena College. She grew up locally and is a graduate of Madison Central School. During Summer 2014 she earned her real estate salesperson license. She plans to work as a part-time agent while continuing her college education. She will be working on all aspects of real estate services with a focus on equine properties in the area. She is a horse owner and has been riding at Saddleback Farm in Hamilton for over 12 years.

In downtown Hamilton, Curtis Lumber has been proudly providing building materials, hardware, and more for over twenty years.

“People forget that we sell more than lumber, hardware, and land-scaping products,” comments long-time Manager Julie Wratten. “In the past three years, we have added a new kitchen and bath design center, an easy to use design your own dock center, and are in the process of completely remerchandising the store to better meet the needs of the community.”

With one trip inside the family-owned store, you might be surprised at the variety of products offered and the friendly faces greeting you around every corner. With over fi fty years of combined building product experience, the Hamilton store staff can walk you through your project every step of the way. “I’d like to think our greatest asset is our people. We can provide expertise and products for every size home improvement project,” adds Wratten.
