hearts with the ambrosial feelings of

patriotism and roused the patriotic

fervour to its utmost best. Students,

Aided) and Prof.K.Mohamed Ibrahim, Vice-President of the Commerce

Association, had been like an ivory pillar of support to the Seminar. The

Resource Person, Mr.N.S.Vijaya Ganesh, Center Manager, Tally Institute of

Learning, Vellore, presented a deliberation that had been like a cascade of vital

information. Prof. D.Dhananchezhiyan,

Co-Ordinator of the Seminar, rendered

his maximum for the success of the

State-Level Seminar. The Student

Secretaries were appreciated for their

the Department. Dr.M.Farook, Head of the Dept. of English, swung the hearts

with the melody of his Welcome Address that sounded more like a cordial

oration of warm fraternity. The Guest of Honour, Dr.Sarika Gupta Tyagi, Head,

Dept. of English, VIT University, Vellore, presented an inspiring talk on how to

develop reading and writing skills. Dr.V.Bhuvaneswai, Asso. Prof. in English, VIT

University, Vellore, entertained Staff and Students with her verbal magic by

dwelling deep into the art of cultivating speaking skills though listening. The

Organizing Members of the Seminar, Prof.K.Abdul Munaf, Prof.P.Ashraf Ali

Khan and Prof.K.Abrar Ahmed contributed their academic mite in perching the

Seminar on the top most rung of

success and popularity. The Organizing

Secretary, Prof.K.Md.Suhail, put forth

saga of Freedom Movement in Vellore in 1857 and

in the years preceding the Year of First Indian

Fundamental Duties’ as part of Constitutional Day

Lecture by Dr.S.Jeevanandam, Asst. Prof. in History, Sikkim Central University,

Dept. of Chemistry, provided an academic dais for Students, Researchers and

in recent times. Alijanab S.Z.Abrar Ahmed Saheb had been courteous enough

to officiate as the Patron of the Seminar. The Convener, Dr.A.K.Ibrahim Sheriff,

played a significant role in making the Seminar a massive Event.

Dr.M.Thirumavalan, Senior Scientist, Dept. of Electrical Engineering, National

Central University, Taiwan, who chaired Technical Session I, presented an

informative deliberation on characterization of Nanoparticles. Dr.Charles

Beromeo, Asst. Professor, VIT, Vellore, gave a Special Lecture on `Transition

Metal Catalyzed C.H.Bond Functionalization’. Dr.K.Anver Basha, Dr.A.Mohamed

Hussain, Prof. A.Sakhoor Basha and Dr.S.Zaheer Ahmed and their

Departmental Colleagues had woven the fabric of the Seminar like talented

artisans.

Students of various classes led by Dr. A. Mubarak Ali and Mr. R. Sugumar had

the goodwill of visiting the Old Age Home maintained by Mahatma Gandhi

Trust, Arcot. They entertained the Senior Citizens by conversing with them on

several topics. They presented biscuits, fruits and milk packets to the old

people as tokens of respect and goodwill. The aged persons in the Old Age

Home wished that students should be visiting them now and then as a source

of solace and comfort to them.

In association with the CMC Hospital at Vellore, the college had organized a

massive Blood Donation Camp which drew attention of more than 100

students of Day College and Evening College. The Hospital Staff, apart from

expressing their gratitude, spoke very highly of the magnanimity of Student-

Donors. The Camp was inaugurated by hon’ble Secretary and Correspondent,

Alijanab S.Z. Abrar Ahmed Saheb. Principal, Dr.S.A.Sajid, showered felicitations

on the NSS Programme Officers for bringing up the Camp on the Campus and

thanked students for evincing keen interest in blood donation.

Inter-University Weight Lifting Tournament held at Manonmaniam Sundaranar

University, Tirunelveli. They won FIVE GOLD MEDALS, ONE SILVER MEDAL and

ONE BRONZE MEDAL pooh-poohing Lifters from other Universities. Hon’ble

Secretary and Correspondent, Alijanab S.Z. Abrar Ahmed Saheb and Principal

Dr.S.A.Sajid, congratulated the College Team and Dr.V.Raja on winning Laurels

to the college.

about Road Safety and Helmet Wearing. Students were advised by the

Programme Officers to respect the Rule of the Road for their own benefit.
