Hadith of the Day The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "When a man says something, then glances left or right, his words are a confidence to be kept." [Tirmidhi] Telling a secret means to inform others of a remark, action, or state which one learns of from someone who wants it to remain hidden, whether it be good or bad. To inform others is to hurt him, and hurting others is unlawful in Islam.

We were the lucky ones who got hot food and a warm house. Are we there for them in their old age? I pray Allah rewards them with Jannah. Ameen :)

Hadith of the Day I was thinking earlier. When we sin, we expect or request Allah to forgive us. But do we show each other mercy? Do we forgive people who have wronged us? If we don't, then should we really expect Allah to forgive us? Why should Allah show us mercy when we don't show each other mercy? 'Allah is not merciful to one who is not merciful to people' [Bukhari] Maybe it's time we all forgive and showed mercy to each other.

Hadith of the Day The Prophet (pbuh) said: "Indeed a giant rock can be thrown from the brink of Hell and it will continue to fall into it for seventy years without reaching the bottom of it." [Tirmidhi] Hazrat Umar said: "Increase in your remembrance of the Fire, for its heat is extreme, its bottom is distant, and its whips are of iron." If only people really understood the horror of Hell, perhaps the world would be a better place.

Hadith of the Day Today a sister came on HOTD and asked people to make Dua for her as she was going through a tough time. A sister helped console her and made her feel better. That is the beauty of Islam. May Allah bless both sisters Maia & Norah :) This love between the sisters made me remember this Hadith. Narrated by Abdullah bin Omar: The Holy Prophet (pbuh) said, “'One who helps someone in his need, Allah helps him in his work, and one who removes any worry or trouble of any Muslim, Allah, in return, removes anyone of his worries on the Day of Judgment'. (Abu Dawud)

[Abu Dawud] Masha'Allah. Thanks Mohammad for posting this on HOTD :)
