Hadith of the Day A man asked the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam), "When will the Hour be established O Allah's Apostle?" The Prophet (pbuh) asked, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "I haven't prepared for it much of prayers or fast or alms, but I love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet (pbuh)) said, "You will be with those whom you love." [Bukhari]


Hadith of the Day The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "When a man says something, then glances left or right, his words are a confidence to be kept." [Tirmidhi] Telling a secret means to inform others of a remark, action, or state which one learns of from someone who wants it to remain hidden, whether it be good or bad. To inform others is to hurt him, and hurting others is unlawful in Islam.

Hadith of the Day Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler.” [Bukhari] This life is nothing compared to what is awaiting us when we die. Always worth thinking about.









Hadith of the Day Ibn 'Umar reported that 'Umar b. al-Khattib (Allah be pleased with him) donated a horse in the path of Allah and (later on) he found it being sold, and he decided to buy that. He asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) about it, whereupon he (the Holy prophet) said: Don't buy that and do not get back what you gave in charity. [Muslim 3952]


Hadith of the Day The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "When a person tells a lie, the bad smell that comes out of the lie keeps the angels one mile away." [Tirmidhi]

(one of them will be) a person who remembers Allah and his eyes are then flooded with tears. (Bukhari Volume 8, Book 76, Number 486)


Hadith of the Day Here's a beautiful Ayah from the Qur'an. In the case of those who say, "Our Lord is Allah", and further, stand straight and steadfast, the angels descend on them (from time to time): "Fear ye not!" (they suggest), "Nor grieve! but receive the Glad Tidings of the Garden (of Bliss), the which ye were promised!" [Quran 41: 30] How comforting Masha'Allah :)

Hadith of the Day I was thinking earlier. When we sin, we expect or request Allah to forgive us. But do we show each other mercy? Do we forgive people who have wronged us? If we don't, then should we really expect Allah to forgive us? Why should Allah show us mercy when we don't show each other mercy? 'Allah is not merciful to one who is not merciful to people' [Bukhari] Maybe it's time we all forgive and showed mercy to each other.

Hadith of the Day The Prophet (peace be upon him) said "When u survive till the evening do not expect survive till the morning and when u get up in the morning, do not expect to survive until the evening" [Bukhari] This is something we ALL automatically take for granted. We just never know when our time is up. May Allah allow us the good sense to use our time more wisely. Ameen

Hadith of the Day A beautiful simple Hadith. Narrated By Jarir bin 'Abdullah: Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said, "Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind." [Bukhari Vol 9 Bk 93 No. 473] It's an important lesson. We constantly ask Allah to be merciful towards us but are we merciful towards each other? Another beautiful Hadith :)

A man said, "Messenger of Allah, I can help him if he is wronged but tell me how I can help him if he is wronging?" Hadith of the Day Today is Friday. If all of us recite Durood Shareef just 3 times then HOTD can be responsible for over 1 million Durood Shareefs. Together we can really achieve this. There is so much blessing in reading Durood Shareef. "For every Durood Shareef that you recite, ten sins are forgiven, ten good deeds are entered into your sheet of actions and ten position are upgraded." [Bukhari] Let's all do this now Insha'Allah.

Hadith of the Day Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Two qualities in people are unbelief: attacking another’s ancestry, and wailing over the dead.” [Sahih Muslim] This hadith does not mean that these things put one beyond the pale of Islam, but that they are the actions of the unbelievers and therefore sinful deeds that must be abstained from.


Hadith of the Day Abdallah ibn Amr (radi Allahu anhu) said: “The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) was never immoderate or obscene. He used to say, ‘Among those of you who are most beloved to me are those who have the finest character.’” [Sahih Muslim]


Hadith of the Day Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was asked by his Companions: “How should we invoke blessings for you?” He (pbuh) said: “Say: ‘O Allah! Send Your blessings on Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad, as You sent Your blessings on Abraham and on the Family of Abraham, for You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.’” [Bukhari, Vol 4, Bk 55, No. 589] Masha'Allah. Hadith of the Day Rasul Allah (pbuh) said: “Good behaviour towards parents by which one can be courteous to them after their demise are to pray namaz-e-janaza upon them, make dua of forgiveness for them, fulfill their religious bequests, maintain relationship with those relatives linked through them and honour their friends. [Abu Daud] “Charity on their behalf after their death (also) earns reward for them.” [Muslim]


Hadith of the Day The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) passed by two graves and said: “Both of them (the persons in these graves) are being tortured, and they are not being tortured for a cardinal sin. But indeed they are great sins. One of them used not to save himself from being soiled with his urine, and the other one used to go about with calumnies (among the people to rouse hostilities).” [Bukhari]

Hadith of the Day 'On the Day of Judgement, the believers will be given a light according to the degree of their faith. Some of them will gain light that illuminates over a distance of several miles, some more, some less. Some people's light will glow sometimes & be extinguished at other times. They will therefore, walk on the Sirat (the bridge over the fire) in the light, stopping when it is extinguished' [Ibn Kathir] Amazing! :)

Hadith of the Day Aisha reported that when the Prophet (pbuh) went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together & blow over them after reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq & Surah An-Nas, & then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. Whoever avoids it when he in the right will have a home built for him in the middle of Paradise. Surely Allah will collect the hypocrites & disbelievers all together in Hell. [Surah 4. An Nisa Verse 140]


Hadith of the Day Narrated by Abu Huraira: The Prophet (pbuh) said, "Every Prophet was given miracles because of which people believed, but what I have been given, is Divine Inspiration which Allah has revealed to me. This is why girls are a mercy and special blessing from Allah.

Hadith of the Day Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alayhi wasallam) said: "The example of a good companion and a bad one is the bearer of musk and the worker on the fires. A bearer of musk would give you some, you might buy some from him, or you might enjoy the fragrance of his musk. The worker on the fires, on the other hand, might spoil your clothes with sparks from his bellows, or you get a bad smell from him." [Sahih Bukhari]

And that if all of them combined together to do you harm, they would not be able to do it unless Allah has determined it for you. The pens have been set aside and writings of the Book of Fate have become dry.” [Tirmidhi]

Hadith of the Day The Prophet (pbuh) said: "Indeed a giant rock can be thrown from the brink of Hell and it will continue to fall into it for seventy years without reaching the bottom of it." [Tirmidhi] Hazrat Umar said: "Increase in your remembrance of the Fire, for its heat is extreme, its bottom is distant, and its whips are of iron." If only people really understood the horror of Hell, perhaps the world would be a better place.

Hadith of the Day Jaber bin Abdullah narrated that he heard the Prophet (pbuh) say: "Whenever someone prays to Allah before entering his house and eating, Satan says to his children: "No sleep and no food here." If he neglects praying to Allah when entering his house or eating, Satan says to his children: "You secured your sleep and your dinner." [Muslim]











Hadith of the Day Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Truthfulness leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to Paradise; a person remains truthful until he is written as a Siddeeq (truthful person) with Allah. 'Uthman continued: "I did that a few times and Allah removed my pain. I always advised my family and others to do the same." (Muslim)


Hadith of the Day Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once asked: "Do you know what backbiting is?"His companions RA replied: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He RA said: "It is to say something about your brother that he would dislike." Someone asked: "But what if what is said is true?" The Messenger replied: "If what you say about him is true, ...then you have backbitten him, but if it is not true then you have slandered him." [Muslim] I hope wecan all try to learn from this valuable lesson Insha'Allah.
