The problem: the exact locations of (illegal) oil palm plantations are largely unknown.
Our solution: Automatic Oil Palm Detection from Satellite Images

In 48 hours we’ve build a working system that automatically detects oil palm plantations from satellite images. There will still be classification errors which will be fixed by a fun crowdsourcing app based on Google Maps where people can go over the maps and correct any remaining misclassifications.
