HACC FOUNDATION SEEKS QUALIFIED APPLICANTS TO SERVE ON ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
HARRISBURG, Pa. – The HACC Foundation, a nonprofit educational trust established in 1985 to
raise private and corporate revenues in support of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community
College, is seeking professional, ethical, knowledgeable and hard-working individuals to join its
Board of Directors.
The Board raises funds for the College, directs the business and financial affairs and serves as the policy-making body

funds for and awareness of HACC and its students, programs and facilities. “The Foundation Board is a group of caring and dedicated individuals with a common goal – to provide a better means of
education for the communities we serve,” said Niles S. Benn, a member of the HACC Board of Trustees, a former HACC
Foundation Board member and an attorney in York County. H. Ralph Vartan, another former HACC Foundation Board member and business leader in Harrisburg said, “The Foundation
directly supports teaching and learning at HACC. It directly touches the lives of tens of thousands of people. It supports
students with scholarship money, and it supports teaching at HACC with funding for necessities like equipment and
classroom space.” “If education is the heart of a community college, then philanthropy is its soul,” said Jim Grandon, chairman of the
HACC Foundation Board and a business leader in Harrisburg. In fiscal year 2013-14, the HACC Foundation contributed close to $2.2 million to the College in scholarships,
special programs and facilities and provided financial assistance to 1,345 students. Qualified individuals are encouraged to apply for membership on the HACC Foundation Board. Applications
are accepted any time and should be submitted using an online application. To see why others enjoy serving on the HACC Foundation Board, please watch this video and view these
