Hue and Cry make their Gwyn Hall debut with this piano and vocal show. Hue and Cry burst onto the UK music scene in the late 1980’s with theoutstandingly successful albums ‘Seduced and Abandoned’ and‘Remote’. This period saw the band produce some of their mostauspicious hit singles such as ‘Labour of Love’, ‘Violently’, and ‘Lookingfor Linda’. Their award winning style of intellectual, yet appealing popsongs, fused with their unique brand of soulfulness gave rise to theircontinued success.

To date, Hue and Cry have performed alongside some of the mostprolific names in the business including U2, James Brown, VanMorrison, Madonna and Al Green, as well as playing to thousands ontheir own headline tours and by their own admission Hue and Cry haveno intention of slowing down.

Winner - Fringe First

Award, Edinburgh Festival FringeCreated by Joe Douglas and Gareth Nicholls,

produced by macrobert and Utter.

In 2002, Joe went on a gap year trip to Uganda, to visit an aunt who was working for a charity. Amidst the six week blur of safaris, white-water rafting and orphanages, Joe made friends with Ronnie....Ronnie was 16, Joe was 18. They were both the eldest sons of large families. They both supported Manchester United. Six months later, back in Manchester, Joe got a text:

“Brother my sponsor has pulled out on me and I want to stay in school. Can you help? Ronnie x”

That text was to change both of their lives and inextricably link them together. An astonishing true story performed by Joe himself,Educating Ronnie takes place over a decade: 4000 miles apart andthousands of pounds invested, it explores the murky processesbehind bettering oneself in Uganda.

Crewyd gan Joe Douglas a Gareth Nicholls, cynhyrchwyd gan Macrobert ac Utter.

Yn 2002, aeth Joe ar daith blwyddyn allan i Uganda, i ymweld âmodryb oedd yn gweithio i elusen. Yn ystod y chwe wythnos osaffaris, rafftio dŵr-gwyllt a chartrefi plant amddifad, daeth Joe ynffrindiau gyda Ronnie ... roedd Ronnie’n 16, Joe yn 18. Roedd yddau’n feibion hynaf mewn teuluoedd mawr. Roedd y ddau’n cefnogiManchester United. Chwe mis yn ddiweddarach, yn ôl ymManceinion, derbyniodd Joe tecst:

“Brawd mae fy noddwr wedi tynnu allan arna i a dwi eisiauaros yn yr ysgol. Ti’n gallu helpu? Ronnie x”

Roedd y tecst yna’n mynd i newid bywydau’r ddau ohonynt a’ucysylltu gyda’i gilydd yn llwyr. Dyma stori wir sy’n cael ei hadroddgan Joe ei hunan, mae Educating Ronnie yn cymryd rhan drosddegawd: 4000 milltir ar wahân a buddsoddiad o filoedd o bunnoedd,yn archwilio’r prosesau cymylog tu ôl i wella’ch hunan yn Uganda.

Bydd ySbaenwyr yn peri problemau gyda'i deddfaucaethiwys (er nad yn hollol wir) a bydd y Cymry yncael help, parch a chyfeillgarwch gan yr Indiaidbrodorol y Tehuelches (gwir).

Cawn hefyd flas ar y traddodiadau a'r diwylliant, tirwedd yr Andes a'r anife iliaid rhyfeddol - yGuanacos, yr Armadillos (sef y dulog fel y'i gelwiryno heddiw) a llew'r mynydd y Piwma.

Bydd y sioe yn llawn lliw a dawns a chân, tensiwn achyffro, drygioni a daioni a chariad yn ennill y dydda theyrnasu yn y diwedd. Pwrpas y sioe fydd rhoiadloniant a gwefr i'r plant ond trwy wneud hynnyeu haddysgu am hanes sefydlu Y Wladfa yn 1865.

This is a Christmas Show for children based onthe heroic journey by the Welsh to Patagoniaon board the former tea-clipper the Mimosa andtheir brave tales trying to establish a WelshSettlement under such harsh conditions and in acountry so far away. In 2015 we will celebratethe 150th anniversary of that legendary voyageto Porth Madryn in southern Argentina.

This is an excellent way for young Welshchildren to learn about the event itself and its background.

The main leaders of the period will be obviouscharacters in the show eg Lewis Jones (theLewis in Trelew). The pretty princess will be hisdaughter Elen. The Spanish will cause problemswith their harsh laws (not wholly true) and theWelsh receive help, respect and friendship fromthe indigenous Indians the Tehuelches (true).

They will also learn about the traditions andculture, the terrain of the Andes and the strangeanimals - the Guanacos, the Armadillos (thedulog as they are called there today) and themountain lion the Puma.

The show will be full of colour, song and dance, tension and upheaval, evil with goodness andlove reigning eventually.

The purpose of the show is to entertain andthrill the children but through it educating themabout establishing the Colony in 1865.

“Pws Mewn Bwts” - Cwmni Martyn Geraint aTheatrau Rhondda Cynon Taf

“Pws Mewn Bwts” yw teitl pantomeim MartynGeraint ar gyfer 2014. Mae’r stori’n dilynhelyntion Jac - mab tlawd i felinydd y pentre -a’i gath hudol! Unwaith eto, bydd MartynGeraint yn chwarae rhan y “Dame” - DiolchCroeso - cogydd gwaetha Cymru. Ac wedillwyddiant ysgubol sioe “Draw Dros y Don” yllynedd, [sgoriodd 9.5 allan o 10 yn y ffurflenniadborth] rydym yn gobeithio creu sioe llawnlliw, hiwmor, cerddoriaeth, dawns arhyngweithio unigryw’r theatr ar eich cyfer CHI- teuluoedd, ysgolion, plant a phobl ifancCymru - felly dewch yn llu ar gyfer rhan bwysigo addysg ddiwylliannol ein plant ac er mwyncreu atgofion fydd yn para’n hirach nag unrhywgofnod o ddata ac ystadegau !

Rydym yn teimlo fod y panto yn fwyaf addas argyfer plant rhwng Blwyddyn 1 a Blwyddyn 6 yrYsglion Cynradd. Ond wedi ymateb arbennigiawn gan ddisgyblion Blwyddyn 7-13 yn ygorffennol, rydym yn hyderus bod pantomeimCymraeg a Chymreig Cwmni Martyn Gerainthefyd yn addas i grwpiau o ddysgwyr adisgyblion Ysgol Uwchradd sy’n astudioCymraeg, Drama neu Astudiaethau’r Cyfryngau.

"Pws Mewn Bwts" - is a Welsh version ofthe famous Puss in Boots adventure. Thetall tale tells of a poor miller’s son, Jac,who is left little in his father’s will excepta very talented Cat. After the roaringsuccess of his debut as Dame last year,Martyn Geraint will spend another winterin his posh frocks - which are worth theticket price alone!

As usual there'll be much fun, music, dance, special effects and interactivity forall the family and after the huge successof last year's panto [which scored amassive 9.5 out of 10 in our audiencefeedback forms] we hope to see our ever-growing audience leaving with evenbigger smiles on their faces. MartynGeraint’s Welsh language Pantomime isalso a great show for those who arelearning Welsh !!
