5 August 2014 Gulf moves forward with manganese smelter Gulf Minerals Corporation Limited (ASX: GMC) wishes to provide for shareholders a copy of our Smelter Business Plan presentation we will be making to the various Indonesian Government departments as the company moves forward in developing our ASEAN focused manganese ore and alloying group. The company proposes to develop an alloying smelter facility based in the West Timor capital Kupang, Indonesia to take advantage of: Low cost, low impurity high grade manganese ore; Beneficial cost of labour; Modest power cost; and Government Fiscal Incentives and a 5 year tax holiday. Production will be a premium quality 78% ferromanganese alloy resulting from the unique qualities of the Indonesian ore blended with overseas ores to enhance iron content to produce an optimum ferromanganese alloy. The first two furnaces will be built during 2015, coming online January 2016, with a further two each year for a total of eight furnaces producing 150,000 tonnes per year at full production.
