Web design firm missteps

Lessons learned

1) A custom web design with an association management system (AMS‐ the “back‐end”) and graphic design (“front‐end”) built from scratch.

2) An AMS “box” solution from a software vendor that also includes web design. 

3) A hybrid solution that integrates a robust “box” AMS with a third party web designer. 

After a consensus with the AAPL staff that the committee would move forward with the hybrid option, the committee began vetting a long list of potential AMS’s and third party web designers

Vanguard

• Vanguard works exclusively with associations and many different AMS vendors. 

• They provide an excellent Content Management System and high‐end website redesign for associations. 

Contract were signed during the last week of August, 2011. 

Kickoff meetings took place during September‐October, 2011. 

Project launch is estimated to occur in the first quarter of 2012.
