School Term Dates 2016 Term 3 Monday 18 July – Friday 23 September (Students return Tuesday 19 July) Term 4 Monday 10 October – Tuesday 20 December (Students finish Friday 17 December) Year 5 DanceSport Challenge Congratulations to our magnificent Year Five DanceSport team that travelled out to the State Sports Centre at Homebush last Wednesday afternoon to compete in the annual DanceSport Challenge Gala Event for 2016. All of our students looked terrific in their outfits and ‘strutted their stuff’ with style on the dance floor. Combining with their partner they put on a spirited, professional display dancing the Jive, Tango, Cha Cha and Salsa. It was a a fantastic event for our students and even though they had only participated in about 12 dancing lessons they looked so mature and at ease. Congratulations to all the girls and boys, to Mrs Edwards, Miss Bullock, our dance tutor Jess, and to all families for supporting and encouraging your children to participate in this wonderful opportunity. This was such a fantastic night and to see the delight on the faces of students and the skill in their movements was amazing. Well done, we are very proud of you all. PaTCH Program Concludes The Graduation Ceremony for our PaTCH program
participants was held last fortnight with all
graduating parents being presented with their
completion certificate. During the presentation
each participant was able to share their learning
journey and speak about the highlights of the
program.
Following the graduation we held a morning tea and
a chat with the classroom teachers who supported
the participants through the program.
The PaTCH program operated for 10 weeks with a
major component of the program being the
completion of some tasks in the classrooms.
Congratulations to all participants for completing
such a worthwhile program. We look forward to
your continued involvement in our students learning
journey.
Father's Day Breakfast Last fortnight we held a Father’s Day Breakfast here
at school outside of the hall. It was wonderful to see so
many dads, pops, uncles and special people joining us on
the morning to celebrate this occasion with a delicious
bacon and egg roll breakfast. We were also lucky to be
able to share this day with some staff from the Cancer
Council Foundation and some staff and volunteers from
the Macquarie Fields Men’s Shed.
Many thanks must go to our Community Liaison Officer
Carol who led the staff in hours and hours of
preparation, setting up, cooking and serving breakfast
to our community. The feedback I received has been
fantastic and we are glad that everyone enjoyed
spending the morning with their children with a lovely
breakfast.
Have a wonderful week!

Book Week – ‘Australia! Story Country’ We all enjoyed a wonderful morning on Tuesday this
week for Book Week. The theme this year was
‘Australia! Story Country’ and the students and staff
enjoyed dressing up for the book character parade.
It was wonderful to see so many parents,
grandparents and friends join us to visit the parade.
My special thanks to Miss Rossiter for organising the
parade.
