The curriculum isn’t just the textbook
Broadly understood, the curriculum includes:
1. Textbooks, worksheets, teacher guidebooks, and all other materials used
2. The sequence (and accordingly the context) in which topics are presented
3. Teachers’ knowledge and instructional practices: how teachers explain the material
1. Only useful if teachers know how to use it and understand the underlying curriculum
2. Only useful if it drives true engagement with the material and does not distract students
3. Only as good as the partnership and support
