Send a copy of Question Collection to a co-instructor

Co-instructors can share their Question Collections. Recipients of shared Question Collections can add or remove questions without affecting the sender’s original collection.

If you want to share a Question Collection with a co-instructor, open the collection and click on the “Manage” drop-down menu at the upper right. Then click on “Send copy to Co-Instructors.”

You will see a list of all co-instructors in your class. Those who have not already received a copy of the current collection will have check boxes next to their names. The instructor can check any of the boxes and click “Send.”

A confirmation message appears, stating that a copy has been sent to the selected Co-Instructor(s).

The instructor who receives the copy will see it listed by that same name under “My Collections” in the Question Library. It will be at the bottom of the scrolling list under a heading that bears your name. For example, if co-instructor Stephen LaRue sent a copy of “29 Sept” to you, it would look like this:

When a Co-Instructor receives a copy of a Question Collection from another Co-Instructor, that collection is no longer linked to the sender’s collection. The receiving Co-Instructor can edit or delete the collection without it affecting the original collection from the sender. The recipient of a collection can make a copy of the collection, rename it, and send it back to the instructor who sent it.

Real-time Mastery Level and Exam (PassPoint) reporting during assignments

You can now see student Mastery Levels in real time as the Mastery Level assignment is in progress, as well as at the completion of the assignment.

See the column that shows the “Current Mastery Level” for each student. This represents the students’ Mastery Levels at the time you are viewing the assignment.

Viewing a Mastery Level assignment when the due date has passed shows the Mastery Level for each student on the due date.

The same column will show students’ in-progress and due-date Mastery Levels for PassPoint student comprehensive exam assignments.

Filter Question Library results by question difficulty level

You can filter your Question Library search results by question difficulty level. In the Question Library, click on a chapter or topic. By clicking on the “Difficulty Level” filter on the left side of the page, instructors will see a pop-up that allows them to narrow their results by question difficulty in increments of 10. More than one range can be selected:

Instructor option to give students ability to review Question Collection assignment answers before submitting them You can give students the option to review their answers before submitting them during a Question Collection assignment. What the instructor sees: You can choose this option when creating a Question Collection assignment (Manage Quizzing):

Below the checkbox is a notice reminding instructors that the review is part of any time limit set on the assignment: “Time limits set for the quiz will include the time for review; no extra time is allowed for the review.” What students see: Student taking a Question Collection assignment under this option will see an additional notice before starting the assignment, reminding them to allot time for the review:

When the instructor has chosen this option and sets a specific time limit on completing the

assignment once it is started, a notice appears below the timer on each question, reminding students that the review is included in the time limit.

Also when an instructor has chosen this option, students have the ability to flag questions while taking the assignment so the questions are highlighted during the review:

After submitting their final answer in the assignment, students quizzing under this option are delivered to a “Review Answers” page that shows a student’s answers for every question in the assignment. They can scroll and change any of the answers. Flagged question are highlighted. Timed assignments include a timer at the top of the review page.

When students are comfortable with their answers, they click the “SUBMIT FINAL ANSWERS” button. They then receive the same experience as they do when finishing a quiz without the review option.

IMPORTANT: Reviewing answers counts as time spent on a timed assignment and/or for then due date and time.

Student Mastery Level assignment results list assignment-related quizzes Students viewing their Mastery Level assignment results can see a list of the assignment-related quizzes they took, with each quiz providing a link to its Answer Key.

Students open the Assignments page, and click on a completed Mastery Level assignment. The results page includes a “View Assignment-Related Quizzes” button:

Question Collection Improvements Selecting groups of questions and adding them to a new or existing Question Collection You can select multiple questions from a filtered search of the Question Library and commit all of them at one time to a new or existing Question Collection. When you start filtering for questions in the Question Library, you will see that each question has a check box in the upper left corner of the question. You can pick one question or multiple questions in the filtered results by clicking on the question’s check box. If you want to select all of the questions in the filtered result, you can check the box in the upper left corner, which checks (or clears) the box in all of the questions. You can de-select a single question by unchecking the box for that question.

Note: If you don’t care to view Selected Questions and like the questions you’ve selected without previewing them, just click on the Add to Collection box at the top right of your filtered results and add the questions to a new or existing Question Collection.

3. Once you’ve clicked on the Selected Questions link, you’ll see a list of all of the questions you checked. At this point, you can:

button at the top right of your selected questions, where you can add the questions to a new or existing Question Collection

o Remove any questions in your

o Click “Go Back” to see your original filtered results. You can use the same results or

further filter them to add more questions to your Selected Questions. At any time, you can click on the Selected Questions link to see your current preview list. You can add that list to a Question Collection at any time by clicking the Add to Collection button.

Questions that exist in a Question Collection show an icon

Questions that are already part of a Question Collection show an icon, left, that, when clicked, delivers a pop-up, below, that shows the names of the instructor’s collection or collections in which it resides.

Mark questions as “Reviewed” for tracking and filtering

You can mark any question as “Reviewed” (right), then, while reviewing questions in the Question Library, you can filter your results (below), either by questions you have reviewed, or those you haven’t reviewed.

Clicking “Review Status” activates a pop-up, right, for selecting “reviewed” or “not reviewed” status. This feature serves as a reminder of questions you’ve already “seen” as you peruse the entire Question Library for questions to use in your assignments.
