Embedding a Hulu Video into PowerPoint

To embed and view a Hulu Video in PowerPoint you need to create

a “Shockwave Flash Object “in your presentation, then navigate to the

properties of the object, and embed code obtained from Hulu.com.

Please follow the following 10 steps.

Step 1. In your PowerPoint presentation, click on the Microsoft logo at the top left of

the window and then select “PowerPoint Options” at the bottom of the menu.

Step 2. Check “Show Developer tab in the Ribbon” to turn on the Developer tab

Step 3. In PowerPoint, select the Developer tab in the Ribbon. In the Developer

“Control” group choose “More Controls” (a “hammer/ wrench” icon) to open the window.

Step 4. In the “More Controls” window, Select “Shockwave Flash Object” and click “OK.”

Step 5. Using the crosshair tool that appears, click and drag a box in which the video

will be embed and shown.

Step 6. Right click the video box you just drew and select “Properties” or access

through the ribbon. A “Properties” window will open with a grid that has enterable fields.

Step 7. Find the video you’d like to use on Hulu.com. Click “Share” at the top right

then the option for “Embed this video” will appear at the bottom left. Click on “Embed

this video” and the Embed Code window will appear…

Step 7 continued. Once the Embed Code Window opens, if desired, you can edit the

scene’s start and stop points by dragging the handles on the editing bar at the bottom .

Once you have adjusted the video, click the “copy embed code” button.

Step 8. Return to PowerPoint and paste the embed code you just copied into the

“Movie” field of the “Properties” window…

Step 8 continued:

•Delete all characters and symbols EXCEPT the URL (shown in orange below)

•Adjust the options for Looping or AutoPlay if desired

•Close the “Properties” window

•Save your PowerPoint document

Step 10. You can now adjust the size of the video by dragging the corners as desired.

To view the video, switch to Slide Show mode (Shift-F5) and make sure you have an

Internet connection. Your embedded Hulu Video scene will now play in your

presentation.
