is one of the best in the world, and our higher education institutions are internationally recognised as centres of

excellence. Our English-speaking, well-educated and young population has drawn global companies like Google,

Facebook, Intel and Hewlett Packard, who now collaborate in our research and employ our innovative, high-

Living in Dublin

Dublin’s rich tapestry of world-class literature, theatre, art, music and of course, its people has ensured its popularity

as a destination for thousands of students each year. Its fast-growing cosmopolitan population of about 1.5 million

fuels a vibrant social life. Everything Dublin has to offer is within walking distance of Trinity's landmark Front Gate.

Dublin has always been noted as an international centre of music – even the famous composer Handel premiered

his masterpiece 'The Messiah' here in 1842.

These days, the old again merges with the new to give a choice of European chic versus traditional Dublin warmthand hospitality. With a choice of sprawling parks, cozy cafes and quirky restaurants during the day or medieval

pubs, fashionable clubs, gigs and galleries at night – a Trinity student is plugged-in to the pulse of a multi-layered

social and cultural environment.

Dublin City…

I is a medieval city with famous Georgian architecture and grand wooded parks

I is the youngest populated city in Europe, with a diverse population of 1.5 million

I is great for high street shopping, outdoor markets, restaurants and cinemas

"Being able to take weekend trips to the Wicklow Mountains or the Cliffs of Moher is one of the

great things about going to university in Ireland. Attending Trinity College Dublin, and going to

classes in and around centuries old buildings, has added a new dimension to Irish history and its

connections to the history of the United States."
