Guatemala is the largest and most populous country in Central America. It has more than

13 million people and 90% of the population live in poverty.

Guatemalahas a young population –

close to 40%

of its people are under 15 years old.

The majority of them lives in extreme poverty

and was orphaned by the war.

Guatemala was devastated by a

36-year long guerilla warwhich ended in 1996.

Guatemala was conquered by Spain for nearly 300 years and that is why by tradition Roman Catholicism is the predominant religion. However, in recent years Christianity has increased

in number and influence.

Prayer Points

Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and for a revival in the nation and within the hearts of the people of Guatemala.

Pray for more workers to be called to reach out to the people of Guatemala.

Pray for the youth across Guatemala especially those who were orphaned by the war.

Pray for a new generation of committed believers with an ignited passion to share the gospel.

Pray for peace to continue and for economic growth.
