FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK, 17TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME – God Will

Give Us Everything

What does Jesus' prayer tell us about God and about ourselves? First, it tells us that God is both

Father in being the Creator and Author of all that he has made, the first origin of everything and

transcendent authority, and he is eternally Father by his relationship to his only begotten Son

who, reciprocally is Son only in relation to his Father (Matthew 11:27). All fatherhood and

motherhood is derived from him (Ephesians 3:14-15). In the Lord Jesus Christ we are spiritually

reborn and made new, and we become the adopted children of God (John 1:12-13; 3:3).

The upcoming Catechetical Year I would like to have RCIA for adults who need the Sacra-

ments of Christian Initiation. If you or someone you know, are interested please let us

know by calling the office and leaving your name a telephone number for an informal

meeting in June so we can go over the topic

Please remember that during our Sumer Schedule will start in August and it is as follows:

There will be neither 7:00PM Eucharistic Adoration nor 7:30PM Mass on Fridays. The only Mass on Fridays

will be at 9:00AM followed by Eucharistic Adoration. Also we won’t have the 8:30AM on Sundays

Si algo hemos de reaprender de Jesús en estos tiempos de crisis y desconcierto en su Iglesia es la confianza. No

como una actitud ingenua de quienes se tranquilizan esperando tiempos mejores. Menos aún como una postura

pasiva e irresponsable, sino como el comportamiento más evangélico y profético de seguir hoy a Jesús, el Cristo.

De hecho, aunque sus tres invitaciones apuntan hacia la misma actitud básica de confianza en Dios, su lenguaje

sugiere diversos matices. Estas invitaciones son: pedir, buscar y llamar.

La Inscripción para Catequesis de Adultos (RICA) será todos los viernes del mes de agosto de 7:00PM a

8:30PM en el sótano de la Iglesia parroquial.

Queremos recordarles que, durante el mes de agosto suspenderemos la Adoración Eucarística a las 7:00PM y la

Misa a las 7:30PM los viernes; la única Misa los viernes será la de 9:00AM seguida de la Adoración Eucarística.

Tampoco tendremos la Misa de 8:30AM los domingos

El día 4 de agosto celebraremos el Día del Salvador del Mundo, con una Misa a las 3PM, seguida de un ágape o

comida en el salón parroquial, todos estamos cordialmente invitados.
