Methodology• To check the presence of Thailand signal in the airport, we use 8 different roaming SIMs and

perform a manual search for GSM signal.Roaming SIM s :

1. O2, UK2. Orange, France

» 3. China mobile» 4. Viettel, Vietnam» 5. T-Mobile, USA» 6. SFR, France» 7. Vodafone, UK» 8. Optus, Australia

• Take the snapshots of the phone screen which shows the existing networks• Measure the receive level of Thai operators at the Wattay airport using TEMS mobiles• TEMS is a measurement tool developed by Ericsson/ASCOM to measure signal strength and other

information used between the mobile phone and the network .

- From the picture Thai border isrice field, there is less than 200 people, but in VTE border is morethan 8,000 people, mean thaioperators objectives to cover VTEbut not thai subscribers

- Thai operators should minimizethe coverage and signal strengthto not cover VTE area

Conclusion

• Thai Operators have very high receive level at the Wattay Airport

• It is suggested to exhaust all means to remove their presence at the international airport of Laos
