ANNUAL REPORT 2015 Growing a Global Solution
G.A.P. STANDS FOR GOOD AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES AND GLOBALG.A.P. IS THE
WORLDWIDE STANDARD THAT ASSURES IT.
We’re a global organization with a crucial objective: safe, sustainable agriculture worldwide. We set voluntary standards for the certification of agricultural products around the globe–and more and more producers,
suppliers and buyers are harmonizing their certification standards to match.
OUR PURPOSE
GLOBALG.A.P. members create private sector incentives for agricultural producers worldwide to adopt safe and sustainable practices to make
this world a better place to live for our children.
OUR MISSION
Globally connecting farmers and brand owners in the production and marketing of safe food to provide reassurance for consumers. We lay the foundation for the protection of scarce resources by the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices with a promise for a sustainable future.

KRISTIAN MOELLERGLOBALG.A.P. CEO & President
The GLOBALG.A.P. Board is very pleased with GLOBALG.A.P.’s performance in 2015, the highlight of which was the successful launch of Version 5 of our Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) Standard. IFA Version 5 is a milestone toward improved consumer food safety and better management and protection of one of our planet’s most valuable finite resources–water. However, we at GLOBALG.A.P. by no means underestimate the daily practical challenges farmers face in meeting the new IFA V5 requirements, as well as those meeting the GRASP–GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment for Social Practice criteria, in response to the rapidly growing market demand for the GRASP add-on as a reliable evidence of social responsibility.
I would like to express our sincere gratitude to you, the farmer, the auditor, the buyer, the retailer, and all our GLOBALG.A.P. members and stakeholders, for your confidence and trust in our company. Our team highly values your commitment.
We are proud to report that 2015 was a record growth year. We continue to be a healthy and successful organization that is globally well aligned to serve you better today and in the future. And yet, we are facing some interesting times ahead. Digitization is about to have a profound effect on our industry and, as a result, the very concept of accredited certification is being challenged.
Building trust through independent and competent auditors remains an extremely important and valuable aspect of certification. However, the cost of maintaining such a high
Since the launch and the first implementations of IFA V5, we have received valuable comments and proposals from early adopters. As a result, we the GLOBALG.A.P. Board are actively responding to our growers’ requirements for support by calling on the GLOBALG.A.P. team to invest added time and resources to produce and share more tools that better explain, guide and support farmers to implement the required practices and associated risk assessments. We must not leave our farmers behind. Let us all–the GLOBALG.A.P. Community–work together to grow the GLOBALG.A.P. Standards into a real value for our farmers.
level of integrity coupled with the rapidly rising demand for highly qualified specialists willing to travel to all corners of the planet every year to visit and inspect farms may drive a certification system such as GLOBALG.A.P. beyond its limits.
It’s time for change.
We need to seek new concepts, adopt digital solutions, and form more partnerships and alliances. To shape the course of this advancement, we, the industry’s stakeholders, must pursue this journey as active participants. I wish to invite you to join us on this journey into the Future of Farm Certification at our SUMMIT 2016 in Amsterdam.
Looking forward to our ongoing partnership for change!
