SensorsA Sensor is a device which responds to a

certain stimulus

2 Main Types of Sensors Digital and Analog

Digital- on or off

Analog Sensors can read different input values

Analog Sensors must be consistent and show exhibit a linear pattern for different stimulus values

Analog SensorsOptical Range Finder: Returns a value based on

the distance the sensor is from something

Light Sensor: returns a value based on the amount of the light the sensor detects

Ultrasonic Range Finder: uses sound to detect the distance the sensor is from an object

ElevatorGoal: Construct an elevator which goes to two

different floors and stays at these floors when corresponding buttons are pressed

Sensors were a requirement for this project

The Construction of the elevator had to be logical because the motors had limited power and the Lego's easily caught on each other

Our Elevator Design

Programming ElevatorEfficiency- Although this elevator only had two

floors the program needed to allow itself to be expanded

Adjustment of power of engines based on construction of elevator

Using Sensors to create a system to control the elevator

Instrumentation Lab

• Objective: The application of an oscilloscope is to measure the voltage of different signals.

• Signals: D.C. vs. A.C.• DC Power Supply: generating voltage

from • -25v to 25v.

Circuits LabWhat we did:

Built circuits and tested voltages

Found voltages across resistors

Tested Diodes

Why we did it:

Learned how to analyze and evaluate circuits. Series and Parallel

Learned about most basic circuit (resistor circuit).

Learned about Ohms Law

Learned about Diodes

PSPICE LabBuilt circuits in using

PSPICE

Saw theoretical values Ideal values

Learned how to test circuits in PSPICE
