Richard Meade (BSc) is a graduate of Bristol University, worked as a biochemist undertaking research atBath University before joining M3 Marine to continue his professional development in the commercialfield, focusing on the offshore marine, oil and gas industry. Richard has a colourful background havingtravelled extensively. He has a sharp, logical and well organized mind, comprehensive IT skills, aCambridge certificate in Arab Studies and is a conscientious communicator at all levels. Mick Mahon, Audits & Inspections Manager of M3 Marine Expertise
Captain Mick Mahon (qualified and experienced DP Master Mariner and OVID inspector), holder of an
unlimited DP Operators Certificate and Diploma in small craft surveying from the Lloyds Maritime
Academy, is an experienced Master in the offshore industry and has served on-board a multitude of
varying types of offshore vessels with an in depth knowledge of conventional and deep water mooring
systems in use today.
Sew Chi Zhong (BEng) graduated from NTU in 2005 with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering andcommenced his career as a project engineer in Pan United Marine overseeing Subsea vessel and OSVnewbuilds.
Between 2009 and 2014, Sew was employed by Hallin Marine, and played a senior active role indelivering all of the company’s marine assets, including two SAT DSVs. More recently, he handled thedevelopment and construction of CSS Derwent before joining M3ME.
Sew is currently the Project Manager for Tasik Subsea’s first newbuild, the 105m DP3 Subsea OperationsVessel, Tasik Toba. Sew has a reputation to be concise and able to sum up meetings and viewpoints toarrive at the heart of the subject matter and to express this in reports.

Sarasvini Chandrasekeran BSc (Eng) is an Honours graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture andholds a Diploma in Marine Engineering. Vini is experienced in the areas of Auto CAD, procurement and projectmanagement for work barges; and is experienced in the drafting of offshore structural, electrical andmechanical drawings.

Ramesh Balakrishnan (BEng, MIEAugst) graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering fromQueensland University of Technology, Australia. He started off his career with ABB in Australia. He has hadover five years of professional experience in the Marine and Offshore industry having completed variousmarine projects for vessel types such as FSO, Pipelayer, Rockdumper and semi sub rig focusing on DP andVessel Management System (VMS).

Capt. John Carroll (MNI, BSc) is based in the UK and brings another dimension to M3 Marine. He was aMaster in the offshore industry on board AHTS and Salvage vessels. Since leaving the sea he has overtwenty years experience in marine consulting and the marine insurance industry. His latest role, prior toworking with M3, was as a marine loss control engineer/risk manager for a US international insurancecompany based in their London City office.
John is capable of assisting in the following markets: salvage, wreck removal, condition surveys, riskassessment, risk management for project cargoes, marine representation and marine warranty surveys.He has the ability to be embedded within a client’s/main contractors office and offer value-addedmarine consultancy services to assist in the completion of marine projects.

Phil Robinson, an experienced Electronics Engineer and Ships Diver from the British Royal Navy. Phil hasover 38 years of experience in the Offshore Oil & Gas business, initially as a Commercial Air & SatDiver/Supervisor he moved through to manage large offshore projects and also into the use of specialisedROVs to bury cables, for over fifteen years for many cable installation companies. He has since manageddifficult cable installations and solved burial problems with cables for the likes of Global Marine, AlcatelSubmarine Systems and Level 3 Cables.
He has worked for several years now with many P&I Clubs in limiting their exposure to claims where avessel’s anchor has allegedly broken a cable and the Club has been claimed against.

David Woon, Finance Director of M3 Marine Group
David Woon (CPA, MBA), holds a MBA degree from California State University, Hayward, USA and is aCertified Public Accountant with a Degree in Accountancy from NTU, Singapore. David joined M3Marine as a Financial Controller of the M3 Group of Companies in October 2009. He strives to providefinancial leadership and is a business partner to the management to drive M3’s growth.
Prior to joining M3 Marine, David has more than 15 years of financial and corporate experienceacquired with both MNCs and SMEs in offshore consultancy and other service industries where heassumed senior finance positions. David is also overseeing the group’s Human Resources Department.
Shirley Tay studied at Clifford Educational Centre where she was awarded with the London Chamber ofCommerce and Industry (LCCI) in Bookkeeping and Accounting.
She is currently pursuing an advanced level course in CAT and has plans to pursue ACCA after.

Every year, M3 offer internships from Singapore Polytechnic’s Maritime Business Diploma cohort and Nanyang Technological University’s MaritimeStudies Degree, giving them the opportunity to learn in both M3 Marine (Offshore Brokers) and M3 Marine Expertise. M3 also started hiring internsfrom ITE’s Shipping Operation & Services cohort in 2014.
To date, 4 of our former interns have since moved on to join us as Management Trainees and employees.
In 2014, M3 sponsored 2 former interns to undertake a Maritime Degree at Plymouth University (UK) under the Singapore Maritime Foundation(SMF) Scholarship.
Upon graduation, Emilie will resume her position with M3 Marine as a Business Analyst while Julianna will work in the brokerage.

TECHNICAL PROJECTS
The CSS vessel is a state of the art twin hull vessel which can be developed
into multiple roles– a first-in-class concept aimed at the offshore sector.
The concept was developed by CSS Design, originally set up by John
Giddens of Hallin, Robin Reeves of MAC, Aker Yards and Mike Meade at
M3 Marine. The naval architect initially known as Aker Yards is now a part
of VARD and is a shareholder in CSS Design.
M3 Marine provided both the technical and operational expertise
required in the initial conceptualization and gradual development of the
CSS concept. M3 is also a part Owner in the design company.
In addition, M3 Marine brokered the >USD 100 Million newbuilding
contract between Hallin Marine and the shipyard for the building of CSS
Derwent, a 84 m, twin-hulled, DP3 vessel complete with a 200T MPT, a
150T AHC (both operational to depths of 3000 m) and 2 deep water
construction class ROVs.
M3ME continues to remain committed to providing technical, operational
and commercial consultancy services to all of the CSS variants.
The Compact Semi-Submersible (CSS) Concept

M3ME were first engaged in 2010 to undertake an independent review
of the proposed conceptual design for the electrical installation of the
CSS Olympia (in accordance with sound engineering practices and
applicable IMO, IMCA and Class rules, standards and guidelines) and to
also advise on areas which should be improved.
Subsequently, M3ME were contracted by Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding to
further undertake DP FMEA (inc. Proving Trials and DP Operations
Manual) for all the 7 CSS in 2013.
The first CSS delivered, CSS Olympia, won the award for ‘Offshore
Support Vessel of the Year’ award at the OSJ Awards 2014.
