VISION
SIRD’s VISION is to enhance living standards of rural households by strengthening and enhancement of knowledge , skill and also by bringing attitudinal change among stakeholders who are directly or indirectly involved in welfare and development programmes and also to act as think-tank to the Government for evolving effective and qualitative policies from time to time.To transform it into academy as State Resource Centre to cater to the training needs of all line departments who are associated with the rural development
Mission•To examine and analyse the factors contributing to the improvement of economic and social well-being of people in rural areas on a sustainable basis with focus on the rural poor and the other disadvantaged groups through research, action research and consultancy efforts. •To facilitate the rural development efforts with particular emphasis and focus on the rural poor by improving the knowledge,skills and attitudes of rural development officials and non-officials through organising training, workshops and seminars.
OBJECTIVES
•To strengthen the knowledge,skill and bring in attitudinal change among existing faculty members,elected representatives and other functionaries.
•To identify the core areas related to panchayat raj and rural development on which training programmes do need to be conducted.
•To evolve process of identification and positioning of faculty members from different core areas for taking up training programmes.
•To establish different centres in relation to identified core areas of panchayat and rural development.
•To transform the SIRD as Resource Centre to cater to the needs of the various categories of stakeholders involved in the planning and implementation of welfare and development programmes.
