The project will use over 34 m of natural gross head that exist between Lake Mainit and the Bohol Sea. Effectively the project uses Lake Mainit as a huge natural reservoir and will have the capacity of lowering the lake water level from 34masl to 31masl The project will not utilize the entire outflow of the lake. A portion will be diverted to generate power and would still allow natural outflow through Kalinawan river for other downstream uses such as transportation, irrigation and fishing.
