GridlockGridlock is an exciting new opportunity, a new kind of media embracing the voice of undiscovered writers, highly skilled amateurs and upcoming journalists.

Published exclusively online, Gridlock Magazine brings together the knowledge and skills of a writing team who love their subject matter, who share their passion and who are bringing you the latest on a whole range of topics. If you write, or want to write, on any of the subjects covered by Gridlock Magazine, if you have a passion for writing and are looking for a new outlet, Gridlock Magazine needs you.

Gridlock is looking for raw creative talent. We select on merit not qualifications. Our team of professional editors can help with technical and grammatical issues. What you need to bring is your own unique voice. If you can write interesting, engaging and informative content then we want to hear from you.

You might be a blogger, a recent graduate or maybe you are already a published writer that wants to gain more experience and exposure. We are also interested in people running businesses linked to their subject areas who can offer expert opinion and advise. Gridlock is the ideal platform for you to hone your craft, build a portfolio and gain exposure for yourself and your business.

Gridlock also needs photographers, people who can provide pictures for use in the layout and graphic design of the magazine as well as picture illustrations for written articles. We are also interested in feature piece pictures and photo journalism.

Is your specialist subject not listed? Don’t let that dissuade you from get-ting involved – if there’s a topic or area that you’re passionate about that we haven’t listed then we want to hear from you – we’re looking to develop Grid-lock Magazine further and are interested in hearing about all new directions that we could go together. You give us an idea of something you would like to do and we will help you shape it into a commercially viable feature.

Our writers work on a voluntary unremunerated basis. Gridlock is published fortnightly and you will be expected to submit one article (200-500words,dependingonformat) for each edition. We will expect new writers to submit an extra article within the first six weeks and provide a rough 8 week plan of articles as the magazine is produced up to 4 weeks in advance of publishing.

Our editors and managers will be able to work with you to develop ideas and provide inspiration.

Writers will also be expected to write one product review or celeb-rity interview per month. We will arrange these and supply you with theproducts–rangingfromsmallitems like cosmetic samples that you can keep through to loans of high end electrical equipment. We may also provide tickets to events and cinema premiers or contact with notable figures for you to interview.

Photographerswillberecruitedon the basis of style rather than content, you will be expected to submit at least 2 photos per month for consideration. You may also be offered the chance to receive press passes in order to photograph certain events.

You will receive a company email address and will be responsible for respondingtopressandPRenquiries in a professional manner. Allwriterswillalsoneedtowriteapersonal profile and create a twitter account linked to their Gridlock presence.

Gridlock will also be recruiting for editorial and management positions on the basis of merit.
