MISO ES Policy

• IPL filed a fast track complaint asking FERC to find MISO’s energy storage policies deficient and in need of revision

• IPL’s 20MW storage system provides frequency regulation, frequency response, and contributes to MISO’s NERC compliance– IPL asserts that there is no provision to compensate 

them for frequency response – IPL also asserted that MISO’s tariffs for ancillary 

services, energy, ramping, and capacity were designed… exclude applicable technologies like batteries
