Nobuhle's achievements were recognised in terms of a number of entrepreneurial projects successfully undertak- en by her. These include her computer school, the herbal petroleum jelly (uNgqo), poultry farming and selling eggs at the Phasiwe community farm at Seven Oaks. Her name was submitted and a video by the organizers of her various projects was made. A team from Brazil, which is looking to fund such develop- ment projects, is to visit Nobuh- le in September. Prior to this, DTI personnel will visit the co- operative, Sesukesdze primary co-op, consisting of Nobuhle and seven members and assist- ed by the Departments of Eco- nomics and Tourism and Agri- culture. In an interview with Grey- town Gazette, Nobuhle empha- sised that without the support of Umvoti community mem- bers, she would not have achieved what she has - from her computer school to her skin care products and producing eggs on her farm, as well as the personnel for the two Depart- ments. After the receipt of this award, the co-op received a re- quest from a donor to look into methods and projects assisting women in rural areas in regard to various aspects of electricity. KZN YOUNG ACHIEVER 2014 Slindokuhle Mchunu A TEENAGER, alleged to be high on the drug Whoonga, was caught red- handed when he tried to break into a lady’s home in Enhlalakahle very early on Sunday morning. Neigh- bours, hearing the lady’s scream, came out in force and attacked the suspect. Around 5.30am, it is reported that the 18 year old tried to break the win- dow of the house. A next door neigh- bour who saw the incident tried to stop him. Others heard the screams and came out and tackled the sus- pect. It is alleged that the 18 year old has carried out a number of burglar- ies to fund his drug addiction. Greytown Police were called and the 18 year old was placed under ar- rest and taken to Greytown Hopsital for treatment for the injuries he had received. There has been a smooth hand over with the new handlers; Marius has prior experience as a dog handler. This team has been very active, responding to a number of complaints in the area, most of which have had a successful outcome. These include, arson, cable theft, house-breaking’s, armed robbery, stock theft and poaching. Some of these successes have resulted in ar- rests of suspects. Nitsi's ex-handler Cole, and his new hound Amigo, have been transferred to Richmond with Buffalo Security. Within three weeks of arriving in Richmond, whilst tracking for three kilometers, they found a suspect who had been wanted for a few months for arson related fires in the area. A positive ID was confirmed and an arrest was made. It must be noted that this is an excel- lent achievement for the team, as Amigo is a very young hound with limited experience. Nitsi is paid for by the Umvoti Fire Protection Association and is available to paid up mem- bers for any fire related or security matter. AFTER four months of planning, riding tracks and puttingthe finishing touches to the event, the team of RogerScheffer, Deon Bruss and Mark Dean launched the Valleyto Valley Navigational Enduro at St Cathryns over theweekend of 18 to 20 July. One hundred and three riderstook part, coming from as far as Pretoria, Nelspruit, Jhband KZN. There was even a rider from Northern Angola.
Valley to Valley was an exciting two day navigationalenduro. Riders had to ride and navigate by GPS predeter-mined tracks. Day one consisted of a 98km track startingat St Cathryns and riding into the Tugela valley. Day twowas a shorter 60km track again, starting at St Cathrynsand heading into Lilani Valley. Feedback from the riderswas that it was one of the best events they had takenpart in - it had been such a great weekend they will bereturning next year with their mates. This event, set tobecome an annual event, will attract a lot of interestin the area and also bring in much needed outside revenue.
The organizers of Valley to Valley would like to thank
all the land owners who gave permission for the ridersto go through their properties - without their co-operation,Valley to Valley could not have happened. A big thankyou to the sponsors of the event as follows:Powasol;Al's Plant Hire and New Holland;Greytown Supa Quick;Mascor Greytown;Aquelle;Race Food;Tr Tec Adventures;Alfie Cox Racing;Village Signs.
A very big thank you to Piet and Cathy Nel and thecatering team at St Cathryns for keeping the riders andspectators very well fed. Last, but by no means least, thanks to the St Cathryns golfers for giving up their golfcourse for the weekend to allow the event to take place.

TOYS, toys, toys! What a fun theme with which to kick off the new
term. And without even realising it, we have been learn-ing about opposites too - inside and outside toys, oldand new toys, hard, plastic toys and soft, fluffy toys.
We also got to see toys our great-grandparents playedwith on our trip to the HMB Museum.
A big thank you to the fun and interesting lesson ontoys from the past by Tante Inge von Fintel (the curator)and Petra Reibeling (the assistant curator).
In the end, we all agreed that, even though thesetoys might be really old, we would still have loads offun playing with them today.

But sadly there are some low life scumwho would resort to such disgusting be-haviour in the attempt to get their handson "easy money" instead of finding a joband earning an honest living.
Promising to help the elderly who are inneed of assistance, they take money withthe promise of repairing broken items andthen disappear with the cash and thegoods. And if given money to purchaseitems for repair etc, they take it and disap-

GOLFERS in the Sanlam Cancer chal-lenge were few, but good competitivegolf was played and from the results,we see that regular players of the gamegot back on the podium on Saturdayby winning their divisions.
Dieter Meyer, hot off a win in Grey-town two weeks ago, was surprised, sit-ting in the clubhouse waiting for thelast players to come off the field, thathe was in fact the winner in his division.
Merwin Rabe, recently returned fromGermany, must have been whacked byjet lag, or was full of Germany worldcup fever, or too much “Gluwein undglockenschpele mit leder hosen”, be-cause he was not rewarded with anypoints from holes 14 through to 17, andended second to Dieter.
With the Sharks semi-final in theback of his mind, lots of chirps from BlueBull supporters upset Piet's game andhe suffered a shocking loss to Rikus
