As a staff, we recognize that the past couple of weeks have been very difficult for our community, but during this season of gift giving and helping others, we have witnessed truly overwhelming acts of kindness and generosity in support of inclusivity and acceptance. Those of us who live and work in this community know what a special place this is and that we support each other. We are also extremely proud of our “Me to We” Team that will be collecting food donations starting now until December 7 th . Please be assured that your generosity will be put to good use as we support local families through the Flemingdon Park Food Bank. For parents with children in Grades 1 – 6, you can expect to receive your child’s Progress Report on Thursday, December 10 th . Please take some time with your child to celebrate and discuss personal accomplishments as well as areas that he/she can further develop both socially and academically in the months ahead. School officially ends for the holidays on Friday, December 18 th and resumes in the new year on Monday, January 4 th . Looking ahead to the return to school after the holidays, the morning rush to dress your children appropriately will become more and more difficult than in the warmer months. Please remember to dress your child warmly with labeled winter coats, boots, hats and mitts. It will also be important to allow yourself a bit of extra time getting ready in the morning to accommodate this process so as not to be late for school. Grenoble's Me to We Team is excited to announce our 2nd Annual Food drive in support of the Flemingdon Park Food Bank. Last year, we donated over 750 pounds of food and this year we are hoping to give even more. We are asking all students who are able, to bring a non-‐perishable food item (e.g. canned fruit, beans, pasta) to school anytime between Monday, November 30th and Monday, December 7th. At the end of the week we will weigh all of the food collected and measure the impact we have made as a school. Be sure to check next month's newsletter to find out how much food we collected!
Mr. Fry and the Canadian Tire JumpStart program are at it again! With the donations from JumpStart of skates, laces, helmets, and ice time at the local arena, the skating program is in full swing. Mr. Fry maintains the skates, organises the classes and schedules the trips. We couldn’t do it without you. Grenoble students are skating their way through the winter. The fun began in November and the students are already having a blast!
Thank you in advance for your help and support with this important initiative. -‐ The Me to We Team
A great BIG Grenoble thank you goes out to Fatima, Marian, Shrika, Bayan, Lillian, Naomi, Asvini, Alex, and Mohebullah for all their hard work recycling with the ECO Rangers. Your hard efforts are appreciated.
