Here’s a brief overview of our community worship experiences for the month: June 3- Romans 8:12-17- The work of the Spirit in our lives. Beginning June 10- Get Crazy, - the story of what happens when you choose a way that is not God, and when God chooses a way that is not yours. June 10- 1 Samuel 8:4-20 (11:14-15) “We Just Can’t Wait to Have a King” and praying for Va- cation Bible School. Staff Changes Announced We are proud to welcome Jennifer Swords as an intern to our church staff this summer. Jennifer will be working with our college age community, helping with youth and children’s worship, and helping out with our Connect worship. Jennifer’s first Sunday is this Sunday. She likes to be called Jenn. Be sure and wear your nametag and give her a warm welcome (But we know you will do that). The Staff Parish Committee would like for you to know about some staff changes. Debbie Cardwell will be moving from assistant youth minister into the Lay Ministry director position. You will remember that Sara Straznicky is moving over to direct the five day preschool. Debbie will be in charge of our hospitality, our ministries with our guests, and care of our members. She will also continue to work with our youth on a somewhat more limited basis. One of our pastors, Ricky Ricks, will work more directly with our Adult Ministry team. Honoring our Past, Celebrating our Future And the Renovations Begin! It has begun…the choir hall preschool rooms are now stripped of that gosh-awful smelly carpet; next step will be painting those walls! And a wall came down last week across from the Fellowship Hall between the “angel” room and the “paint- splatter” room. This is the future choir room. It will allow our Chancel choir a shorter walk- ing distance on Sunday mornings. The old choir room will then be converted to the Chil- dren’s Worship center, and will also be used with the 2-day and 5-day preschool programs. The old Resource Room (that always seems to be the catch-all) is being cleaned out to make room for Sara Straznicky’s preschool office. Excitement is everywhere! Thank you to everyone who has given and/or will be giving of your extra fruits to make these changes hap- pen! It is all about growing the Kingdom, and raising up Disciples of Christ!

Youth Mission Project The youth began a local missions project through
serving an elderly resident of our Greggton neighbor-
hood. In the midst of school finals and demanding
extra-curricular activities, a dozen of our youth made
serving the needs of our neighborhood a priority. The
project included mowing the yard, pulling weeds,
clearing brush, and trimming hedges. The resident
was very appreciative, but the honor was the youths'
to serve. When she looks outside of her window, she
can enjoy the beauty of her yard, and her heart will be
warmed by the love of Christ shared with her by the
youth at Greggton United Methodist Church.
Love Shares are still available in the church office.
