Greencity

Greencity is an educational game about responsible consumption and recycling at home. It is designed to be played on the Facebook platform to be both participatory and social. The players will be able to participate in the building of a social city, where everyone participates. Every player will own its own house that will !nally create a map where the city of Greencity will be displayed. Greencity will be hosted in a open platform where anyone can pop in and see what players have created. Greencity will be always saved in the net as a !ngerprint of what every citizen has loved to draw, tell or explain. The Facebook game aims to maintain a balance between entertainment and knowledge on green consumption. It is not a game designed exclusively for children and that is also a reason that can naturally be spread through the network.  

GreenCity, an educational game

+ Initiative to participate in a global project that leaves its !ngerprint on a map constructed by all participants. + Independent tests (capsules) that can be performed at any time of the day thanks that it does not take more than 10 minutes to complete each one. The players can come back whenever enters the platform, following where they left off last time. + Formal Design and standard language in order to reach the widest possible audience. + Tests designed to practice good habits. By practicing the player naturally apply in their daily lives what they learned in the drilling perform. + Motivation for self-improvement: the driving test. The main test of Greencity is a challenge that not only aims to drive a car, but to apply the rules of efficient driving. The test will be increasing difficulty in each of the levels, so players must improve their skills in order to reach the goal

GreenCity, a wider audience

Greencity is designed to encourage eco-driving electric vehicle, so every game will begin with an itinerary in which the player uses efficient driving. Once they reach the goal, they’ll enter a house where to do the test selected. Each test is designed to teach skills for energy saving and recycling. At the end of each game a panel with information on the ecological issue will also be displayed, providing the game with an educational background. If they surpass the test they will get carbon credits with which to buy "green gifts" for your home. As the game progresses, there will be more green houses and the scene will grow gradually. Finishing tests, efficient driving and inviting friends do accumulate carbon credits. The carbon credits are needed to buy items with those who want to customize their home or to accumulate energy reserves for cases that do not complete their tests on the !rst round. Obtaining credit and its value will vary depending on the difficulty of the test, as well as "gifts" that can be achieved.

Game dynamics

It is the most important test and the axis of the entire game. It is repeated at the beginning of every game or "capsules" and always follows the same rules, although varying difficulty. The test intend that the player acquires habits of efficient driving to apply them in the real life. The test consists of driving through different types of roads where you must show your efficient driving skills, adapting them to the path changes. The itineraries are not long, each test takes no more than 1.30 minutes in which the player must reach the end line. They have three chances in case of an accident and get as much points as close to the rules of efficient driving they are. The display consists of a guide map that will show them the route, speed and revs controls, gear shift and power reserve. The player will handle the car with the arrows of the keyboard, which will serve to speed up, slow down and turn left and right. The difficulty is in the gearbox, which is done through two buons, one for turning up and one for turning down. The clutch is activated simply pressing the left arrow to accelerate or slow down.

This has to be the easiest test for sure as you recycle at home, so I will not explain how this of cubes, colors, organic and plastic work. Drag each residue in the corresponding bucket and get more carbon credits for the following tests!
