BACKGROUND, PROBLEMS AND ISSUES

HISTORY It was almost 60 years ago when this part of Makati was opened by the Ayala Corporation as its first post war residential subdivision. It used to be part of Barrio Tejeros carved out of rice land, water lilies, kangkong, talahib and other swamp undergrowth. But even for those who start a new home they can truly call their own, it was a good enough place to live in. By May 1949, no more than five families have built their modern homes.

Special Features

– Solar Panel – Comfort room for drivers and passengers – Rainwater collection system – Rubber boats positioned on Roof Top – CCTV equipped and Wi-Fi

Page 38: Green Urban Design for Brgy Lapaz, Makati City, Philippines

BUDGETARY COST OF THE REGULATED TRICYCLE TERMINAL

• The Proposed Regulated Tricycle Terminal will incur a Minimal Budget should a Sponsorship will be encouraged by the Barangay such as Gasoline Stations like Petron, Shell, Total, Caltex and the like. Donations from the business partners of the Tricycle Consortium can play a big role from the Paints, Steel works and Roofing Materials, including the Signages.

• For a background on the Budgetary Cost. Assumming an example area of one Module that may cater to 5 Tricycle Units. An area of 5.00m x 10.00 = 15sq.m. can be assumed at P5,000 per sq.m. is equal to P75,000.00 for the Structure alone . Budget for these project shall increase depending on the Open space covered as provided for by the Private Owners.

• In case of completing the Project for Disaster- Risk Reduction purposes which means provision of water tank, Comfort rooms and Inflatable Boats in the whole package, a Budgetary cost of P10,000 .00 per sq.meter can fit to the project. Thus a MODULE of 5mx10m has a total of P150,000.00
