Part 1 (40 minutes): We hope to share our iLab story with you…

Part 2 (10 minutes): BRAIN BREAK: We are big believers in FINNishing Strong (4o minutes on, 10 minutes off)

Part 3 (20 minutes): Various Choice Stations~1. Speak with iLabStudents 2. Go through a day to day visual account of the iLabthrough our Twitter feed 3. Analyze our data (discipline, attendance, academic progress)

What is the Green Run High School Innovation Lab (iLab)?

• It is an experiment in PUBLIC educational reform and democracy.

• We have no filters, no applications, no interviews…we take any student zoned for our high school and we build our curriculum organically each week around student and teacher passions.

• Green Run High School and the Innovation Lab classes are populated with students from very diverse backgrounds. The demographics in the GRHS iLab reflect the overall demographics of the school. There is a large contingency of military families as well as a large percentage of African-American students. Of our iLab students, 19 % come from families connected to the U.S. Armed Services. 51% of the iLab students are African-Americans, 16% are Hispanic, 2% are Asian, 4% are Multiple Ethnicities, and 27% are Caucasian.
