For a sustainable future

Air Liquide takes the challenge of climate change seriously and wants to play its

part in sustainable development. That is why we chose to create the Green Origin

concept. With our unique Green Origin gases, you can reduce your carbon dioxide

emissions.

During the lifecycle of these gases, the primary impact on the climate comes from the

production of electricity used in our production processes and from transport.

What does Green Origin mean for you?

As a user of Green Origin you will:

• Invest in an environment sustainable for the long-term.

• Enhance your environmental profile.

• Contribute to your company’s work on the environment.

• Receive an annual summary of your company’s contribution to the climate benefit.

• Receive a validation statement from a third-party auditor about our Green Origin work.

Our commitment

We supply gas according to the Green Origin principles:

• The gas is produced using renewable energy from wind and hydropower in the Nordic region.

• All CO2 emissions from transport are 100% carbon offset through projects approved by

the Gold Standard Foundation.

• We report the environmental impact of your company’s use of Green Origin gas on

an annual basis.

• We continually work to reduce our energy use during production.

• Over the long-term, we work to introduce climate-smart fuel for our transport.

• Our Green Origin concept follows the ISO14021 standard.

• Our method is periodically reviewed by an external third party.

Our management system, which our Green Origin work is a part of, is certified according to

ISO9001 in the Nordic region. In Sweden and Denmark, it is also certified according to

ISO14001 and in Denmark also according to ISO50001.

Green Origin includes liquid nitrogen, oxygen,

argon and carbon dioxide.

The world leader in gases, technologies and services for Industry and Health, Air Liquide is present in 80 countries with approximately 65,000 employees and serves more than 3.5 million customers and patients. Oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen are essential small molecules for life, matter and energy. They embody Air Liquide’s scientific territory and have been at the core of the company’s activities since its creation in 1902. Air Liquide’s ambition is to lead its industry, deliver long-term performance and contribute to sustainability.

Air Liquide Nordic countries are part of the Air Liquide Group. The companies in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland form a joint Nordic organisation with the resources to offer our customers a very high level of service, even across country borders.

We help our customers exploit the unique advantages offered by gas technology in the best possible way. From initial demand assessment through testing, installation and training to the optimized final process. We also offer a range of services, such as service checks and maintenance, customised according to the customers’ needs.

Thanks to strategically placed production units, our efficient transportation organization and more than 350 distributors, we deliver quickly and safely throughout the Nordic region.

The climate impact of liquid gases from a lifecycle perspectiveWe are a fortunate industry with fantastic raw materials that have no negative impact on the

climate. For the production of oxygen, nitrogen and argon, normal air is used.

Carbon dioxide is extracted as a by-product, in our case from the chemical production of road

salt and the fermentation of wheat.

These gases do not have any negative climate impact even during use. Carbon dioxide is

released as normal during use, but this does not have any increased impact on the climate, as it

would still have been released at the source. Instead, our gases can actually help to reduce the

impact on the environment, for example during water purification and combustion processes.
