Here we have a group of Olympian deities flanking the ceremony of the peplos, Athena's special garment.

day Turkey), and was completely rebuilt three times before its eventual destruction in 401.

● At Ephesus, a goddess whom the Greeks associated with Artemis was venerated in an archaic, cult image[31] that was carved of wood and kept decorated with jewelry.
