Beginning next week, we’ll start another class based on one of Bishop Robert Barron’s excel-lent programs. This nine week program, called “7 Deadly Sins, 7 Lively Virtues,” is set to

begin on Feb. 7 (just a few weeks before Lent), and will finish up on April 4th (just before Holy Week). It promis-es to be thought provoking and engaging, so I hope many will sign up on our parish website, or call the office to sign up - that way we can be sure to have enough materials on hand for the program. You can find out more about it else-where in the bulletin, and also at our website: masse-nacatholics.com. Fr. Mark

“Soup”er Bowl Underway

Trinity’s “Soup”er Bowl is underway again this year! Students learn the value of giving to others by collecting non-perishable goods to be distributed to both St. Vincent de Paul and the Neighborhood Center. This year, the students are working together toward school goals which will bring special rewards, such as a Jean Day, a yummy treat fixed specially by the Cafeteria, and a Movie Day. In just one week, students have already gathered over 1000 items, earned their Jean Day, and learned a great deal about how to help others in need!

Batty About Robotics

So proud of Trinity Catholic’s Robotics Team for win-ning the Presentation Award at the FLL Robotics Competition last weekend. As a result of their determination and ability to work as a team, they received the Presentation Award for crea-tivity and an in-depth solution to the competition problem. For the “Animal Allies” theme, they chose bats to show how they are an ally to people and people an ally to bats. A great deal of time and work was put in by team members: Aidan Aldous, Diamond Barrett, Alexis Boulais, Lucas Jock, Kalei Mc Don-ald, Roeby Northrup and Addison Tarbell, and coaches Nick Tsibulsky and Ann Borsellino.

Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Lively Virtues

Join Bishop Robert Barron for this engag-ing presentation concerning the seven deadly sins, those great spiritual blocks that inhibit our flourishing in relationship with God and one another. Based on Dante’s writings, the seven deadly sins cor-respond to the seven levels of Dante’s Mt. Purgato-ry. Pride, envy, anger, sloth, gluttony, avarice, and lust are all presented as patterns of dysfunction within us that lead to unhappiness. However, Bishop Barron shows us how to counteract these seven sinful patterns through a conscious process of opposition, which are the “seven lively virtues." The seven lively virtues offer antidotes to each sin and help set us on the right path to healing and happiness. Starting on Tuesday, February 7 and continuing to Ho-ly Week, our parish will begin the Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Lively Virtues program. Each Tuesday, the program will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. All sessions will be held in St. Mary's Social Hall. You can register by calling the parish office at 769-2469 or visiting our web site at www.massenaatholics.com.

While always being thankful to the priests and sisters that have served us unselfishly throughout the years, our diocese is blessed to have seminarians & sisters devoting their lives to ser-vice. Please support these dedicated seminarians & sisters with your prayer. If you would like to go one step further send them a card of thanks and prayer, their names, birthdays and addresses are:

World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life February 4th & 5th

gious priests, consecrated virgins, and hermits, as well as members of Secular Institutes. Renew their knowledge and

love of you, and send your Holy Spirit to help them re-spond generously and courageously to your will. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

bring old blessed palms from home - we’ll have receptacles where you can leave them in Church. Those will be the palms that we burn to create ashes for Ash Wednesday on March 1st.
