The park is generally open, with few fences and a number of gates usable by riders. The dam at the end of the lake and the route on the eastern side of the lake is considered unsuitable for horses due to confined routes and the number of gates. It is also acceptable to ride through the open woodland but bear in mind that visibility is sometimes restricted. The best place to park is in Woodgate car park at the western end of the Great Wood (TG1615,2970). The park is in constant use by dog owners, cyclists and walkers with no separate routes, so (especially within the woods) expect to there to be others using the paths. The park often has cattle and sheep grazing with access in to both areas. Generally the soil in the park is very sandy and can be quite soft in some areas. Enjoy your ride.
