Formation of Lakes

Lakes form in many different ways

1. Barrier lakes - is a man made reservoir

2. Rift-valley lakes (Lake Tanganyika)

3. Erosion lakes - A lake, in a bowl-shaped basin worn away by a glacier.

4. Basin Lakes The depression in the Earth's surface occupied or formerly occupied by a lake and containing its shore features.

Water flowing out is called Victoria Nile River

That river is small near Lake Victoria but becomes bigger by the time it reaches Sudan. It then is called the White Nile

It joins the Blue Nile flowing out of Ethiopia and becomes the Nile flowing northward through Egypt
