Description
AP Armaflex Gray Duct Liner / Wrapisaflexibleelastomericthermalinsulation.Itsclosed-cellstructurepreventscondensationandmoisturewicking,andmakesitanefficientinsulation.ItismanufacturedwithouttheuseofCFCs,HFCsorHCFCs.TheMicroban®antimicrobialprotectionisregisteredbytheEnvironmentalProtectionAgencyforuseinairducts(EPAReg.No.1258-840-42182).ItisaddedduringmanufacturingtoprovideanextralevelofdefensetothenaturalmoldresistanceofAPArmaflex.
APArmaflexGrayDuctLineriseffectiveforreducingHVACnoise.
Itissuppliedinrolls46˝,47˝,48˝,56-1/4˝,59˝and60˝wide,in1˝or1/2˝(specialorder)thicknesses.WithPSA,itisintendedtobepinnedduringfactoryapplicationinaccordancewithSMACNArequirements.WithoutPSA,nopinningisrequiredifadheredwithArmaflex520Adhesive.

APArmaflexGrayDuctLiner/WrapmeetsrequirementsofNFPA90Aand90BforDuctCoveringsandLinings,andUL181forMoldGrowth.Approvedforuseinreturnairplenums,conformstoASTMC1534requirementsandwithstandstemperaturesof250˚F.
AllAPArmaflexinsulationmeetsrequirementsofInternationalEnergyConservationCode(IECC)andASHRAEforR-Value4.2at1˝thickness.R-Value2.2at1/2˝thickness.
Uses and Applications
APArmaflexDuctLiners/Wrapsareidealforairhandlingsystems,VAVunits,ductsandotherairsystemcomponentsrequiringcondensationcontrol,resistancetomoisture,damageorheatgain.Theyalsoreducenoisegeneratedbyfansandairmovementaswellastherattleorpoppingofsheetmetalairducts.Thegraylinerisespeciallyeffectivefactory-appliedforenduseareaslikeschools,hospitals,hotels,commercialandpublicbuildings.

Note: Must be installed according to “Installation of Armaflex Insulations” publication (000-005).
Whenairstreamvelocitiesexceed4,000FPM(20.3m/second),metalnosingshouldbeappliedtoeveryleadingedge.Nosingmaybeformedonductsorbechanneledorzee-attachedbyscrews,rivetsorwelds.
APArmaflexGrayDuctLinerislight-tackself-adhering,whichprovidesconvenienttemporaryadhesionpriortopinning.ItisalsoavailablespecialorderwithoutPSA.Inthatcase,ifinstalledusingArmaflex520Adhesive,nopinningisrequired. (Please see “Wrap” illustration and caption.)ThefollowinginstructionsapplytothePSAproduct,thereforethemosttypicalapplication:
Theproductmustbesecuredwithmetalfasteners,eitherimpactdrivenorweld-secured,whichmustcompressthelinersufficientlytoholditinplace.

Squareoffsheetalonganedgeorcorner.Pressthesheettothesurfacetakingcarenottotrapanyair.
ReachbehindtheArmaflexsheetandpeellinerbackwhilepressingthesheettothesurface.
Pressfirmly.Buttjointsrequiretheuseofcompressionjointstopreventthepossibleopeningofseams.

➁Withstandstemperatureof250°F (121°C)whentestedaccordingto ASTMC411.“TestMethodfor SurfacePerformanceofHigh- TemperatureInsulations”.Atthis temperature,AP/Armaflex GrayDuctLinerinsulationshows noevidenceofflaming,glowing, smoldering,delamination,melting orinsulationcollapse.Although thisinsulationwillwithstand hightemperatures,continuous usetemperatureshouldbelimited to180°F(82°C).
